We bought pastries from the bakery and ate in the restaurant. The pastries were delicious with the exception of the macrons. They were too sweet and were not as good as in Paris. We bought 10 and didn't eat all of them and we love macrons. The restaurant was a nice experience. The staff were relaxed and friendly, totally give a feeling of calming in and enjoy yourself. My uncle aunt brought us to the French restaurant, which is really good for brunch! So I have the eggs Benedikt #2 and my mother has the French dip that is really good!! So I recommend you go to this place when you have a vacation in San Diego. They also make bakery for Cakes Breads. Judgment of the Court of Justice
This is a cute little spot with great food and a solid wine selection. They also have fresh pastries and bread available at a service counter. I have eaten both dinner and brunch here with great results. They even have great food to go.
Simply put, The French Gourmet is the best! We worked with them for our wedding reception. From our initial inquiry to the day of our event they were kind, attentive, responsive, professional and wonderful to work with. They worked with us to create a menu that we loved and identify the type of service that best suited us. They did a formal walk through before the wedding to ensure all details were accounted for. The night of our wedding they were incredible. The entire staff was so professional, quick and kind to everyone at the event. They helped create a romantic and elegant environment through their food presentation and service. The food was absolutely delicious. Numerous guests made it a point to comment on how good the food was. They also worked very well with the many vendors that were part of our event. Weddings are so personal and special, The French Gourmet helped make our day memorable and wonderful! I would refer them to any person looking for delicious food and wonderful service, and give them my highest recommendation.

The beet and pear salad (which was new in the menu) was a big hit. I can't tell you the last time I had a salad I carved about. We had the carpaccio as an appetizer, which was very nice. My husband had the flat steak. He really enjoyed it. I ordered the lamb frame that was pretty good. Both plates had very generous portions. We had no desert. If we're in San Diego, we're definitely back.
We went for San Diego Restaurant Week 2022. We always like to come back to this cozy little place. We always love their food and great service. In this time there was a fixed price menu due to the SDRW, but with their best dishes, so it is a good offer to try it. You also have a bakery so you can buy your favorite desserts home. We always come back and we usually do on special occasions as we know we have a great experience.
