After looking through reviews for a great donut spot, this place came highly recommended. Donuts are a special treat for me, but I couldn't make it past the second bite. I've walked by this place many times. Finally, we decided to stop in and treat ourselves to a donut and coffee. The service was very welcoming, and they have a good variety of donuts, including some inspired by Girl Scout cookies. I got my favorite a Bavarian and my friend got a cinnamon sugar. Both were delicious! And the coffee was fresh brewed. Apparently, this has been a donut shop for more than 40 years, so I always like supporting local businesses over the chains.
Was here a few times before and then tried several other donut joints in the area. The product availability is always a hit or miss in other places. But every time I was in this place, the case is always full and donuts fresh. Staff are fast and polite. No bad experience yet, definitely my place from now on.
It was our last day in San Diego and we wanted to stop from a local donut shop for breakfast and candy. I'm glad we stopped here. She was very friendly and super sweet! She even gave us additional donuts for our trip home as soon as she realized that we flew out today. The donuts, breakfast sandwiches and Vietnamese ice cream coffee were all delish
What a hidden GEM! I'm not into Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. Donut Stars donuts are so fresh/soft/ the perfect amount of sweetness. They have something for everyone! They are always so friendly here as well! I love supporting mom and pop places and it's even better when the quality of food is so awesome!Awesome Apple Fritter, Jelly donuts, cream filled, specialty and more! Yeah their might be homeless people in the parking lot but, that is NOT the owners issue that is a SAN DIEGO issue that we have so many homeless displaced people. So if you're in the area and want a treat... HIT them UP! you will not be sorry!
