This was our final meal in la grande motte and after not being able to get a table the previous evening we booked ahead. Well we weren't disappointed, the food and service was excellent, even though they were packed, and the value was the best...of all the meals we had. Everyone left content and happy. Highly recommended but book ahead or you might be queing for some time... View all feedback.
This restaurant is amazing, I have just dinner with my partner here, I ordered the sea bass I must say was cooked to perfection, in mouth melted and fresh! my partner had showers in a delicious sauce also freshly cooked! the restaurant is located directly on the beautiful seaside location and the staff is so nice and friendly, highly recommended!
We went here as a large group of 16, there was a bit of confusion at first with all the people coming and the number of seatings. We were given the usual bread and tasty olive oil infused with chilli and lots of table water....There is a set menu for 16 eur which Includes an entree, main and dessert, which looked pretty good! I ordered the whole fish, which was presented to me whole and then beautifully cut the fish in front of me. It came with some vegetables and rices with pesto. It was very nice an huge! The salmon looked good too. The pizzas were covered in cheese which I'm not a fan of but the others liked it. Check out the gold fish in carafes on the tables inside !
We stayed in la grande motte on the way to Provence and decided to make a walk on the beach. it was late oktober and the weather was perfect in the mid 70s with blue sky. we have stopped from la taverne for lunch and ordered the moule fries. they were perfectly fed, large and plump and tasted from the sea. the frits were crunchy and plentiful. the waiting staff was very friendly and accommodating. highly recommended.
This is a place karin and I visited since 1990. at the time it was known for his cousin cuscous no longer. new owners for three years have redesigned the interieur and transformed the menu into a traditional French sort....One of the specialties is coucroute maritime well tasting with smoked haddoc and muscheln (3,) allthough coucroute in 30 c seems a little strange. but this restaurant is the only one in the opposite that is open year around september and januar. price level is medium with menus at € 18 25. weine from € 21 25 for white and € 22 29 for red. special red at € 33 60 (chateau neuf du papes) even the house white is drinkable. the chef is from aviron near roan to northen. the workers in la salle are attentive and fast. worth visiting if they are in the neighbourhood of la grande motte.
La Taverne is situated on the small boulevard of Grande-motte Couchant Herault Has been growing over time both in size occupancy interest and talk of the town . Just supposed to be good and moving up the ranks. So lets try. We had pizza, mussels, and...a small menu with carpaccio and duck. Pizza was ok. Carpaccio was very nice. However the main courses and deserts were below standard. Mashed potatoes should not taste of bacon when you are having duck, neither should there be half potatoes in it. Duck breast needs a little grill not just warm fat. Fries need to be warm. Aioli sauce on mussels should not have half garlic toes but rather small pieces. Finally the tartelette tatin tasted like it wasin the same oven as several meat products. Luckily the lady who served us was very friendly; although the other lady (in charge at the door and payments) definitely needed a holiday or week of sleep. All in all the way up the ranks was un successful. Not recommended.
