We were there as a young family with two and four year old kids and we thought the whole experience was fantastic. We went there without having read the reviews on here and were surprised by the nasty comments. We found the food to be of excellent quality, service was very attentive and the beds were very comfortable. I am usually very picky about the food I eat and I was pleased to find pieces of real fruit in cockt... View all feedback.
What Arian Olsen doesn't like about Effet Mer:
Although the beach there is really nice (in general), the food & service is not worth a visit. The salad was completely taste-free, the asparagus was of very low quality, and the service unfriendly. Effet-Mer looks nice from outside, but that's it. High prices for low quality of food... View all feedback.
Good place to be very close to the beach, nice music but a little bit loud. Food is good, not amazing for the price I found expensive... Finally, service was very pleasant.
The place has a lovely look and like all the paillotes (temporary beach restaurant/bar) its a very nice place to spend the evening (or day). Like the other paillotes, it's not great value for money and service can be peremptory, especially when they're busy. So don't go for service, or food (or the wine list). But if you just want to soak up the beach experience, there are plenty worse, and it is, comparatively speaking, one of the cheaper paillotes on the beach here.
Started off well. place looks nice and we got a couple of relaxed beach beds from some tattooed 'waiter' with sunglasses. after asking for and receiving the menu we tried to catch the waiters attention again to actually order something, but this proved to be impossible, even though only maybe 10 out approx 40 beds were taken. tattoo guy did not bother to look around for any moment, not sure what he was doing actually. seeing the overall price level of this place you would expect some capable staff and overall high quality service level but this is just not the case. after we finally were able to order something with one of his colleagues, so much time had gone by that apparently only 2 or 3 options were still available for lunch, although the place was half-full at best and in the middle of peak holiday season. ultimately decided to move to the neighbours for lunch (Paillote Bambou) which we can definitely recommend. regarding the effet-mer locations/looks are nice but there are probably better places to spend your money.
Relaxing, great set up, nice bar, nice beach beds and service. Though it s a bit expensive, and the wifi there is for free but useless.I spent the day there thought I think it will be also great to spend the evening there at the bar.
I've have been visiting Effet-Mer for ten years, starting off as one of the best places ever it has slowly deteriorated.I am happy to pay the high prices if the service and quality of food is good but its definitely not at Effet Mer. Are the staff briefed to be miserable to the customers? Ah well best start looking for another beach-club
