What User doesn't like about Organico Fortuna:
partly large and partly moderate. we liked the mood, but eating was incompatible. the tico burrito was just fantastic. I'd eat it every day if I could. but the avocado toast was terrible – it was unsaturated bland multigrain brot with a watery tasteless avocado sauce above. very disappointing. we had several ice-cream drinks that were in order, but nothing special. Organico is really neck and neck with El Chante Verde as my favorite restaurant ln La Fortuna. Both have a variety of menus with many delicious vegan options. Both have pleasant settings and employees. So even if I'm just a bit more of El Chante Verde, it's not a knock on Organico Fortuna. I love this menu! It is clear and gives you a LOT of vegan options to choose from. I really liked everything I had here. The only exception was the vegan tuna Burrito, who was a burrito, but not like tuna. Remember, it was perfect edible and good, just a little strange as you could expect from something called a vegan tuna burrito. But everything else here is top notch, high-quality delicious food, beautifully presented. I've eaten more than anywhere in La Fortuna and I've never been disappointed. The staff was always very helpful and the mood is relaxed and friendly. Your small shop on the back could also be very useful for travelers. And I have to say... I love the vegan milkshakes here. Even if I'm 'commanded flavors that are not, I would usually choose, I was thrilled. If I could, I would give Bioo five stars. Let me close by commenting on some other critics... I think prices are very reasonable. (And yes, they vary with exchange rate, but still... For me it seems unholy to make a restaurant like this store fair prices in such a small, out of the way community. La Fortuna is far away from the beaten path, and vegan food is an unusual offer, so easy to smile, enjoy and be happy that they are here.
We came in for lunch and wish we would've went to another place. The service was very slow to begin despite there being 3 servers and only 3 other tables. We ordered drinks and an appetizer which took a while but we waited. During this wait time we put in our meal order, too. We got our first stuff and figured it wouldn't be too long until our meals came. We waited almost an hour and nothing. Nobody came by to check on us or anything. Other tables came in after us got their meals and left. We finally got someone's attention and asked where our food was. They were lost. The server went looking and talked to the cooks. She spoke loudly in Spanish and obviously didn't realize we also spoke Spanish (had spoke English the whole time) and she was arguing with the cooks and they didn't make our order and she didn't pay attention to her customer so they both messed up. She came back and told us there was an issue with the vegetables for the tacos, big lie. She said they were making our order now and are very fast. 45 more minutes go by and we get our Quesadilla and Tacos. Literally all we ordered and took almost 2 hours. The whole staff could tell how upset we were and did nothing. The food wasn't even good either. The vegetables that apparently had been a problem were gross and soooooo salty I could barely eat it. If I wasn't so darn hungry I wouldn't have ate them. After 2 hours and being lied to they didn't even offer us a discount or just to take one of our drinks off for the mess. I couldn't believe the horrible experience. Would never ever go back or recommend this to anyone. There are WAY better places in LA Fotuna. Plus, way cheaper!
The owner should engage polite and respectful personal. I entered the place, asked for a menu in spanish with prices in colones. The guy in charge answered : Only english here . I said that it was a pity. After that, the guy became completely crazy and disrespectful. I have a wonderful experience by traveling in Costa Rica. Ticos are wonderful people. But this veggie restaurant probably owns the only exception to the wonderful mindset of Pura Vida. #Veganuary
We ate here almost every day we were in La Fortuna! I loved the banana pancakes (vegan gluten free yummy! and the chocobanano smoothie. My hubby really enjoyed the tico burrito. We didn't explore all the options on the menu because we loved our pancakes and burrito so much.
Although everything isn’t vegan, the vegan menu is expansive and delicious. The restaurant is also pretty and has a little shop with clothes and food items. It’s pricier than other cafes in the area, but worth the healthy ingredients.
