L'Ecailler - La Flotte

A beautiful meal, skate, superbly cooked. A wonderful mix of flavours. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. One of our more expensive meals, but well worth it.

Very sad. We have visited the restaurant several times in the past few year.s and had a wonderful meal and something special.This year it was clear things had changed . Either frenetic or indifferent service. A lack lustre, tired and lazy approach to the whole eating experience . It seemed as if they were relying on their past acclaimed status on the Ile de Re. When asked towards the end of the meal if va bien I began to explain that their classic Marmite de Lotte was no longer the same with smaller portions and the addition tete de veau the maitre became very defensive, disinterested and slightly arrogant stating nothing had changed and with a shoulder shrug to finish.This is definitely not what should have happened in a restaurant like this. This tended to sum up the whole overpriced and disappointing meal. You cannot just rely on your past excellence. I wonder if on reading this review it will be taken seriously or just dismissed as a little insignificant comment with another shoulder shrug. The adverse comments are increasing and I would not want to be an investor pride becomes before a fall . So sad

We enjoyed an exceptional menu. delicately scented mid-cooked. white butter with ecelentic fish. did not miss the breath and the baba for dessert. sunny terrace in the afternoon. the address to hold.

Very good restaurant I highly recommend people who want to eat very good fish, very good cooking. excellent from the entrance to the dessert, our taste buds are regaled. We'll be back with pleasure.
