Delicious food - the perfect lunchtime spot. It wasn't a great day, so we ended up eating and drinking for most of the afternoon - and it was delightful. A bit of a trek up-hill from the cable car for non-skiers. View all feedback.
What Jürg Fehr doesn't like about Le Chalet des Praz:
We stopped by here 3 times for apres-ski drinks during a 5 day stay in La Clusaz. Cheesy but fun music and a nice spot in the sun drew us in. We had some rather over-priced drinks and bottles of wine, but that's mountain restaurants for you. The numerous staff seemed completely befuddled and disorganised however, though we noticed they were more alert with French customers. On our last day we had hot chocolates as we... Most amazing group lunch in here, the food, staff and wine are simply superb, what a great couple of days we had dining here. The outside bar was a must for a few cold ones and few shots on the way back down the slopes, in the late afternoon it's like a little slice of Ibiza! The tunes were absolutely banging but great fun for all the family X
We paid nearly €20 for a pint of a beer and a gin and tonic. Great views and ambience, but not €20-for-two-drinks great. We attended as part of a larger party and they cooked some pizzas for the group: my partner and I asked if they could make a vegetarian pizza without cheese (i.e. Something vegans can eat), to which the curt and somewhat rude answer was "no". Obviously it is technically *possible* to make such a pizza – we ate one in La Clusaz on the Friday night! – so either they had pre-assembled the pizzas, or they just couldn't be bothered to accommodate us. Either way, this place left a bad impression and I'd be in no rush to return.
Great spot for stopping whilst skiing either for coffee or lunch with a beer . Very buzzy and an assortment of seats including comfy cushioned seats . Live DJ and music creates a real vibe . To be recommended
Great position, excellent food, friendly service and when we were too tired to ski home they even drive us back to village! Merck beaucoup!
