First course was an amazing fish soup and second was a very good dorade with a decoration that looked like art! Creme brulee was ok (I have had better). Very friendly staff. Location was not the best in La ciotat but not too busy, which...was nice. View all feedback.
What Lidia Meléndez doesn't like about L'Oustaou:
We will not be able to judge the quality of the proposed restoration because we have been repressed from the reception. holiday checks are saying welcome, but in this restaurant it is not. Indeed, when we signed that we paid by vacation check all of a sudden the restaurant was complete, and other people behind us, without reservation, were accepted. High server. It's a shame. Had a nice Christmas dinner here, no reservation required. hubby had the filet de boeuf with a foie grass sauce and I had the safran risotto with a jumbo prawn and cranfish. we loved the lachs gravur and champagne-sabayon oysters. the service was good. and enough English for us to enjoy a good meal. If we're cold outside, we can get in. recommend them for lunch.
Delicous food. Service is good. Sea view. Child friendly. Suitable for vegeterians. Desserts marvelous.
The owner was very nice, he gave us a starter which wasn't on the menu, delicious food. We enjoyed ourselves, very relaxed atmosphere. Also very good location, near to the port.
This restaurant offers very good home cooking! The food is tasty very fresh. The very casual style is very appealing. The staff is attentive friendly. Worth a detour!
Magaly, the friendly receptionist at the Best Western Premier Vieux Port hotel recommended L'Oustaou for a late night meal, suggesting we try their calemars (squid). We were so glad we took her advice, as the family that has operated the eatery for 25 years was...quite friendly and the food was delicious. Especially recommended if you love garlic!
