Contribute FeedbackI have no complaints, the service was excellent, the meal very good and the view is incredible if you get a window and don't have to look past my bald ugly head to see it. Excellent meal just pricey, our most expensive meal in a...week in Quebec and not the most memorable. It was Labor Day weekend, the Train de Charlevoix was late and they did hold our reservation. Excellent service in the restaurant.
Beautiful view of the St-Laurent river. You must ask though for a table beside a window. This restaurant is extremely overpriced and the food wasn't that great. It seems like it was already prepared and ready to be served. There is no menu a la...carte.
Bernard and Remy provided outstanding guidance re selections and wines, wonderful service and personal insights about Manior and local history, and St Lawrence perspectives. The fish special and wine selections were a perfect complement. When combined with the romantic twilight setting and staff, we found...ourselves coming back a second evening. Both experiences were exceptional.
We were staying at the hotel and wanted to extend our enjoyment of the view for as long as possible, so we dined in the restaurant. I explained to the hostess that I have an allergy to all grape products (wine, wine vinegar) and asked...if the cuisine would be a problem for me. I think I freaked them out. The very nervous waiter kept asking about my allergy. He even insisted on shaking my hand, but I'm not sure for what. Eventually, the chef came out (after conversations with three other staff) and said that there wouldn't be a problem. Crises averted. Was the waiter a new hire? The meal was good but quite expensive for what it was. It was an uncomfortable evening.
Le Charlevoix is the premium restaurant in the Manoir Richelieu and the most upscale restaurant of the Charlevoix region. The view of the Saint-Laurent river and the ever changing panorama is breathtaking. Service is elegant but not stuffy or snobbish. As for the food, we...had an excellent dinner, starting with the beetroot carpaccio and the gnocchi stuffed with buffala ricotta, which was sensational! Followed our main course which was sablefish for one, and beef with risotto. The risotto was the ultimate risotto; literally the best I've had. There's also a great wine list and an extensive menu of liquors, scotch and Bourbons. Overall, a very expensive evening with excellent service, good food and a view and atmosphere that can't be beat!
