Teuchi-udon Kendonya - Kyoto

Absolutely amazing food!! The handmade Udon was incredibly tasty and differs significantly from udon shops in America. Probably one of my favorite foods I got in Kyoto. Very recommended after checking out the nearby Inari Shrine!

We stopped at Twuchi-udon for an early dinner after climbing up to the summit of the nearby torii gate area. Staff members were very friendly, food was reasonably priced, and quite tasty overall. We ordered a couple of udon bowls with rice topped with egg and chicken/beef. I noticed some anime/comic looks in the corner of the restaurant for kids to keep them entertained. There is even a kids section on the menu so this place is quite family friendly.

This restaurant serves handmade udon and it tastes delicious and authentic. We waited for about 10 minutes outside as the restaurant is relatively small. Prices are considered good for the amount of food they served in the set course we ordered. Their pork cutlet and chicken karaage was really good. If you’re heading to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, I’d recommend you come by here for lunch or early dinner as they close at 6pm.

Udon with deep-fried tofu and beef curry soba are delicious!!! You can order either udon soba and all by hand not machine. Not a very spacious place hence expect a little bit of queue!

The cold udon is not really special. But the egg rice is excellent! Definitely will go back for that! The best egg rice I ever had so far in this trip!
