Motokame - Kyoto

I love tempura but allergic to shrimps, Motokame led various types of meat for tempura with very reasonable price, so we ordered chicken tempura which is incredibly soft and tasty. The place is easy to find near Ichijoji tram station, it is so well decorated with nostalgic posters; in addition to these, the owner is very friendly and helpful so,all in all, two thumbs after Motokame.

Good to have a tempura lunch after hiking in Kifune Shrine. The environment here is good and the owner is full of hospitality. It is nice for all travelers and Kyoto free Wi-Fi is available.

Awesome and delicious! The manager was super friendly, even if he didn't speak much English, he really tried to know us and calm us down. He even offered us sweet origamis! The portions were huge and the price was low! I recommend this place and come to another time:

He made the trek after a temple jump. Great food, relaxing atmosphere. Your pace is one of my favorites. The portions were full, but light. The food did not give me the heavy feeling fried foods usually. You can also choose how much rice you want. Also the sweet potato ice cream was great. It wasn't too sweet, and a great dessert to finish a good meal. The owner and the staff are very hospitable and friendly. Menus are available in English, but can also speak English. (We were explained which sauces go with what dish. Very recommended!

Amazingly delicious tempura and soba with lots of different spice options and free tea. The dishes were beautiful and the owner very friendly, too. One of the best meals I’ve had in the three weeks I spent in Japan. Highly recommended! 美味しい！
