A Happy Pancake Kyoto

We expected a line, but because we had about 40 minutes before closing (and it was a weekday) the place had only 2 other customers. We ordered a sweet and a delicious pancake option. They were served very quickly. I had expected to like the sweet pancakes more, but the savory pancake with the salmon was so good that I end up eating more. Definitely want to come back to taste their other flavors.

The Happy Pancake was indeed a happy place. While the wait can be a while, once you have a table you get to spread out and relax. There is significantly more elbow room than most local restaurants. Did I mention the food is incredible? The thick, fluffy pancakes have amazing taste and texture. The toppings are well balanced and not overly sweet, even the desert pancakes! Dont be afraid to order the desert as a meal as it is plenty filling and delicious!

The best pancakes I’ve ever had! They are massive, if you aren’t a big eater I would suggest sharing with someone or ordering a couple to share. 2 would fill up 3 people easily!

A happy pancake never fails to make me happy with their pancakes. So fluffy, eggy and delightful with the whipped cream and maple syrup side! Came over before dinner and it was a quiet nice place to chill and use the free wifi.

The pancakes are tasty and fluffy, however I did not like the eggy taste too much. There's a good selection of flavors which is always a plus. The pancakes take a while to prepare but I think the wait is worth it. They're very filling too so make sure you have room for it!
