Delicious Indonesian food served in a stunning aqueous restaurant (you will have to go to see what I mean here). For you veg do order the Fern Tips deliciously familiar yet not familiar.

Amazing fine dining Indonesian restaurant. The decoration with the water all around the restaurant is so beautiful. The dishes are very tasty. The team is so friendly and attentive. Fully recommended we will be back.

During my trip to Bali, I tried two elevated Indonesian restaurants: Bambu and Merah Putih. Bambu is an incredibly beautiful restaurant with a quiet and romantic ambiance that sets the perfect mood for a great evening. The service here was a breath of fresh air compared to Merah Putih. Everyone at Bambu was exceptionally warm and friendly, whereas Merah Putih felt like a very uptight fine-dining environment with no friendly faces to be found. For my meal, I ordered the Bambu Babi Guling, and it was absolutely delicious and very filling. The dish comes with a few extra items, including two great skewers of sate, and I ordered a side of rice to accompany it perfectly. A nice little bonus is that Bambu provides complimentary crackers to start your meal, whereas Merah Putih actually charges extra for them. I'm not Indonesian and don't know a ton about Indonesian food, but I know a fantastic dining experience when I have one. When comparing the two restaurants on every metric I can come up with, Bambu is way better in every way. I definitely wouldn't go back to Merah Putih, but I will absolutely be returning to Bambu! This was a truly lovely restaurant. Every dish was a work of art, full of flavour, beautifully presented. I had the tuna steaks, which were beyond delicious and a tasty papaya salad. We ate at several restaurants in Seminyak, but this was the best. The flavours were subtle and enhanced each other perfectly in the way characteristic of really fine cooking. I'm afraid I've forgotten what the dessert was called, some tubular grain thing mixed with jackfruit, but it too was sensational. My companions were equally pleased with their meals. There is an upstairs section where we were and a large, attractive downstairs area with water features that would have been difficult with the toddler who came with us but lovely for a young child free group. We sat upstairs which was a little hot, despite the fans provided. You can book here though it's not essential. A tranquil, beautiful space and serene helpful wait staff. The co-owner we met, an American who has lived in Bali for 33 years , was a pleasure to talk to. The whole experience was a real treat.
