And it absolutely delivers. The food is a cut above all other established BBQ joints in Melbourne, hands down. Dining with four friends, we had the chance to sample nearly everything, and the blissful silence that fell over the table when the food arrived was broken only by the sounds of chewing and the occasional exclaim of, "Wow, you have to try this!" The old-school rock music playlist perfectly set the ambiance for the meal. The staff were incredibly attentive and happily addressed any questions regarding food allergies and preferences without hesitation. The restaurant features open-plan dining both inside and out, making it a great space for any size group. Their beer selection is notable too, with a diverse range to satisfy any palate, in addition to a variety of bottled options if you prefer something specific. If you're visiting for the first time, I strongly recommend trying the beef short rib, classic Limp Brisket burger, beer-battered pickles, and the mac n cheese balls. This is an experience you won't want to miss so you can go ahead and recommend it to your friends and take the credit!

While searching for a great pub in Melbourne, we discovered 'The Hack', a beloved modern pub situated in the heart of Port Melbourne. After hearing so many wonderful things about this local gem, we were eager to visit and experience it for ourselves.

However, if you’re not a fan of meat, this may pose a problem. This is an American BBQ establishment, and you won’t find much in the way of greens on the menu. So, be prepared for a lot of carbs and protein. The food was enjoyable, but since American BBQ is relatively new to Melbourne, I probably didn’t fully appreciate the cooking techniques or style. The menu mainly features items like fries, chicken wings, burgers, and various meat options. Everything was tasty, and the meat in the classic burger was incredibly tender. The bar staff were friendly and very accommodating. If you’re a fan of American BBQ, this is definitely the spot for you. Here are my top three takeaways: 1. Thank you for providing LEGO blocks to keep my kids entertained for hours. 2. I can see this becoming a family favorite, and the pram space was fantastic; if you could add a changing table, I could potentially stay all night! 3. While I love meat, Melbourne has a strong preference for greens and healthy options. I would love to see something on the menu that doesn’t make me feel like I have to hit the gym for the next 10 days.

Such a great experience here! M and I went in for lunch on a Friday afternoon.<br/ First impressions: What a beautiful space! Funky art work that works wonders for the ambience and so much natural light flooding in. Upon entering we were greeted warmly. We took a seat on the stools near the window and had the menu explained to us. The service was genuine and attentive. I especially appreciated the beer recommendations.<br/ <br/ DRINKS!!<br/ The Hack has a tailored range of craft beers, focusing on local and independent brewers. We were able to taste test before placing an order. It was a tough choice, but the Green Beacon won me over. <br/ <br/ THE MENU! We were so spoilt for choice. Limp Brisket BBQ is currently running the kitchen and serves up some of THE best slow-cooked American BBQ in Melbourne! Poor M had to deal with my indecisiveness and patiently wait for me to choose what I wanted! <br/ <br/ We ordered the following:<br/ <br/ Mac Cheese Croquettes w. Sriracha cream: As a lover of all things cheese, I may be a little biased, but these were incredible!! Crunchy on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside. We almost ordered another plate but self-control took over, as mains were yet to come.<br/ <br/ Smoked Hot Wings w. Blue cheese sauce: They had me at blue cheese! This may be an acquired taste for some, but M and I scraped the plate.<br/ <br/ 12 hour Smoked Brisket: Local grass fed, free-range meat, wood smoked from the pit! Deliciously tender and bursting with flavour. Meat lovers, this one is for you.<br/ <br/ The Iron Jack: This is by far the most interesting vegan option I’ve seen on any menu. I’ve never tried it as a fruit let alone a savoury option. Truth be told, I couldn’t tell the difference between this and pulled pork! !<br/ <br/ BEERMISU: Such a quirky take on tiramisu! This was the cherry on top. M and I shared because by this point we were full to the brim.<br/ If I had a second stomach, I would have ordered a burger as well, but this just provides a good excuse to come back again ; Thank you The Hack Limp Brisket for a killer feast!!
