Never think that just because a place is in a food court that it is not going to be good. Only a stones throw from Southern Cross Station and the DFO it is close to everything. Today I had lunch at Potto which does not promote itself as any particular style of Asian food and doesnt pretend to be anything other than providing freshly prepared meals presented in a stylish and mouth watering manner. I ordered the Signature Crispy Pork which is served with freshly cut vegetables like the carrot and red cabbage, nicely pickled with interesting tangy flavour plus an onsen egg all served on a bed of white rice that is ever so slightly sweet and sticky. The pork was tasty and had the slightest bit of crackling on each piece. The blend of textures and flavours was something else. My friend had the Crispy Pork Salad served within a circle of cucumber drizzled with a light dressing and toasted sesame sauce. The salad mixture of corn, Spanish onion, not too much fortunately, cabbage, carrot and edamame beans that lay under the pork made a lovely fresh bed to complement the meat. <br/ <br/ Order at the counter and if eating in, take your number and wait for your food. Be aware that everything is cooked fresh on site so your meal may take up to 10 minutes which really is nothing for having a meal made to order. <br/ <br/ There are also smaller meals such as rice paper rolls and dumplings. Refreshments available. <br/ <br/ At $15.90 and $13.90 respectively for each meal that was a generous portion size, I wont be eating dinner tonight. <br/ <br/ Big tick is that they use bamboo cutlery not plastic and snapped a pic of their coffee stirrers and chopsticks also from bamboo. Packaging for takeaway is in boxes not polystyrene. Well done. <br/ <br/ Lastly the service. Found everyone to be friendly and efficient. <br/ <br/ Notes: suitable for vegetarians and vegans and those with dietary needs, you can dine inside the open aired cafe or out the front at a table with high stools. Definitely wheelchair friendly, kid friendly, plus high chairs available. Takeaway available. Catering possibilities just enquire.
3.8<br/ <br/ Casual Japanese fusion eatery in Spencer Outlet.<br/ <br/ My friend knows the owner, so our meal was on the house. The place was kind of cute and chill, despite being a part of the foodcourt. The dishes came out one by one but the wait wasn't too long, but not for those in rush.<br/ <br/ Sampled a few dishes from their new menu.<br/ <br/ The pork belly vermicelli was yummy. The pork itself surprised me as it was really crispy but so juicy, also well seasoned. I'd definitely recommend it the owner's mom made it herself ! Vermicelli though was too overcooked so it did break in short pieces. Classic dressing and veggies completed the dish.<br/ <br/ The chicken curry was another yummy dish. The curry was definitely one of the best I've had, which means even when it covers the rice, it didn't make them too flavorful that I'm just sick of it, instead they complemented the rice well, and not to mention they came with chunks of potatoes and carrots<br/ Lastly we tried their pork dumplings. This one was quite good in a way that it contains soup inside and so it's juuuicy yet the dough is crispy. It would be better if it did have a tad bit more flavor to it though, and if it wasn't as oily maybe pan-fry is a better option .<br/ <br/ Overall quite a solid place for some yummy bowls, it's not as budget however but the quality justifies it. <br/ <br/ follow for more! <br/ <br/ xx,joelle
Lovely place, nice food. Friendly service. Dumplings was nice and juicy inside. The pork bowl and salmon bowl was great. Miso soup was superb, very good for this cold weather.
Crispy pork is absolutely amazing. Had it in a rice bowl, will try the roll next time. Staff is super friendly, had a nice seating area. Definitely coming back.
Came here and had the seared salmon bowl. It was prepared in front of me and hand seared with a torch which was quite interested, and provided a nice Smokey flavour to the salmon. It was topped with a slightly sweet sauce and the perfect amount of chilli salt. Was delicious, will be back to try their specialty crispy pork bowls.
