We came here with a voucher for a Pinki Pinki tea or high tea. This is an attractively decorated little cafe just off the street in the large building on the corner of Camberwell Junction. Thought I’d try something new and went to Pinki Pinki for a High Tea using a Cudo deal (Petite High Tea with pot of tea) however, I think that deal has now expired. <br/ <br/ It’s in a hidden location in Camberwell so if you don’t know about it, you’re unlikely to stumble upon it. The place is really quaint, with cute but modern decor. <br/ <br/ The High Tea came with macarons, scones, sandwiches, spinach pastries and spicy prawns. The prawns were a highlight because they were fresh, crunchy and an interesting element for a high tea. However, we found the spinach pastry was a bit hard and the scone a bit dense. <br/ <br/ If you’re a tea aficionado this is the place for you. There are an overwhelming number of tea options.
Pinki Pinki is beautifully decorated and the owner is absolutely lovely. He couldn't have been more accommodating. My friend and I asked for half vegetarian and half meat high tea and this was no problem. I'm not sure why other people are complaining about the portions because for me and my friend, it was the perfect amount. We got one Turkish delight tea and another lavender, both were delicious. The owner kept filling up our pots too. Unfortuntely, we were the only ones in the cafe the entire time. I think that must just have something to do with the location, as it is off the main street. I will definitely be going back there, especially because high tea is only $20 each.
