Nice meal with Live Jazz. It was such a treat to have a nice meal with live jazz music. The menu had a good selection. We had the porterhouse steak which cooked well. It was also pleasant to have fresh and crunchy greens on the plate. The live jazz music was superb. View all feedback.
What Zoe Teichmann doesn't like about Dizzy's Jazz Club:
Firstly, live Jazz music was fantastic. So good to watch great musicians do their thing. However, food took 1.5 hours to come out (incl. entree which took 45 mins). Entree calamari was cold and crackle on pork belly wasn't crackle. However, still a nice selection on the menu and waitresses were lovely. Food just didn't live up to what I felt it should. Most ridiculous dining experience I've had ever. Waited 2 hours for our food without an apology. I understand there was a problem in the kitchen however we were presented with a full bill despite being served food different from the description on the menu (clearly because of the pressure on the one man kitchen) on top of the hideous wait time. I told the waitstaff that I found that ridiculous so they gave me a $6 discount on a $92 bill. Disgusting. We don't recommended nor will ever be back. They seem to think it's ok to run a business like that.

Great little jazz club, it may not look like much from the outside but it's cozy and full of good tunes inside! The staff are really nice too!
Only go for the music, not the food or cocktails.. I went to Dizzy's for the first time recenltly and the appearance of the restaurant is lovely and the band was wonderful. However, the food and the cocktails were not acceptable, as well as how aspects of the managment ran the night. They were not booked out, yet the first meal I ordered was sold out. That was fine and I ordered my second choice. The pasta was floury and didn't appear cooked through. I ordered a cocktail and it was undrinkable, as tasted like lime juice alone. I then ordered a vodka, lime and soda, yet they used lime cordial rather than fresh lime. When it came to dessert, two were sold out and the one I received was delivered with the side of ice cream completely melted. We then received the bill without anything said, even though the band was still playing and we were still ordering drinks. We then couldn't have table service for our drinks anymore, which meant walking in front of the band to attend the bar, and then return to our table with our drinks. At about 11:15pm, we were told we have 10 minutes, even though the band was still playing and they close at 12:00am. The band even thanksed us for hanging around. This was all just too many things going wrong, yet they didn't behave like anything had, so this may be the norm for the place. I think the band was great, but would prefer to see them at another venue. If you attend, go after dinner and don't order cocktails.
Underwhelmed, overpriced and overrated.. We booked a table for 6 people to watch and advertised band who was supposed to play. We were charged $14 each entry for the band which turned out to be beginners from a local music academy, very disappointing. The menu is very limited and average, pricing is extortionate for what is served. Apart from that the staff were erratic and lazy, only visiting the table for the first 20minutes of the night. Would not suggest this place to anyone, melbourne is full of many more professional places. Wish I could have said better things I was looking forward to it, but it was disappointing.
