Very cheap bakery, conveniently located in Caulfield plaza. Lots of snacks to choose from; from sweets like jelly slice or hedgehog, to savoury items such as pasties or sausage rolls. They also do hot drinks, and offer soy milk at no extra charge. Cash only.
The meat pies are good but I prefer the sausage rolls. Fluffy pastry and not as salty as most other sausage rolls. Simple bakery but serves some nice hot food.
The first impression I get here is that the staff are very attentive, polite and eager to serve you, which is always great. The prices here are very cheap it reminds me of my primary school high school days, where good value could be found in a sausage roll or party pie from the school canteen, something you don't really find these days. The pies here are, of course, much better. I've always found my pies here tasting fresh they also have some nice varieties, my personal favourites being the steak and mushroom pie, and the humble shepherd's pie, with really good consistency in the mashed potatoes. They also do really cheap and really good banh mi Vietnamese rolls, made to order. The bread rolls are always fresh and crisp. The pork in the rolls is usually good, though very rarely, I've found it a bit hard to chew. Service speed is very good never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get my rolls made on the spot.
The smell coming from the bakery was enough to draw me in to check it out. I ordered the BBQ Pork Roll. It was like the perfect snack to grab in between classes at Monash. It fits in your hand but surprisingly really filling. They were generous with the ingredients, lots of BBQ Pork inside which I’ve been craving. The bread was also crispy but not too hard. Waited less than 5mins so you don’t have to wait long to get it.
