Cafe Pony - Kumamoto

Café Pony is located just outside the city center, but it offers a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly, but there weren't enough of them to provide quick service. We ordered the burger set (which came with soup and salad) and a drink, but had to wait at least 1.5 to 2 hours before we could finish our meal due to long waiting times. The carrot soup was well balanced and tasty, the salad was good, but the burger was bland and had a less appealing texture. Overall, it was a bit overwhelming. However, it's always nice to find a fully vegan restaurant in Japan.

I decided to visit this restaurant because it was the only 100% vegan option in town, and as I don't speak Japanese, it seemed like the best choice. The staff was extremely friendly, although one of them had limited English skills, they made sure I knew what I was eating and everything was delicious. I enjoyed a parsnip soup followed by a tofu salad plate, with unlimited tea refills.

The Burger at this restaurant is unlike anything you have ever tried before. The other dishes are also exceptional, I highly recommend them. 11/10.

I was informed that there would be a wait of about an hour for the food, but it didn't bother me much. It would likely be faster if you made a reservation. The fixed-price meal was tasty, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The café had a pleasant, cozy ambiance and also offered delicious muffins for sale.
