This coffee shop is situated right on the bustling Chowrasta Street. If you're looking to take a break after exploring Georgetown on foot, this is the place to be. The shrimp dish here is excellent! Don't let the photo fool you, we tried the vegetarian version and it was delicious. And the coffee is also top-notch. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. View all feedback.
What John Munisamy doesn't like about Kedai Soon Yuen Coffee:
The curry mee is a must have!! We always make it a point to drop by at least once when we come to Penang. (Make sure to get your spoonful of chili, because that’s where all the flavour is at Wanton mee is another classic that we have everytime we come here. We decided to try the kuay teow thng (if I’m not wrong it’s a new stall not too bad, but the noodles could be smoother. View all feedback.

Tried to get into the popular Toh Cafe under the hot sun, but it was too crowded and the wait was too long. I decided to try a nearby gem instead. I have to admit, it was just as good if not better than Toh's. The coffee was excellent and the food was very tasty. Overall, a great find away from the crowds with delicious dishes worth the wait. P.S. - The dessert was also really good.
The curry noodles and stir-fried vegetables with pork are must-try dishes.
The koay teow th’ng here is a thing of wonder and served in seconds by a cheerful team of tanten and mr. tan! it had a deep and umami taste with freshly shredded chicken, fried garlic and handmade fish balls that were taken from the kitchen on a large tablet. the noodles had the right elastic and slippery texture, and the broth was clean and light. it was so delicious that we thought during the day. make sure they are as early as they can open them at 6 o'clock and are pretty much sold by 11 o'clock.
One of my favorite places to eat koay teow thng in the morning for breakfast. Delicious and love it. You can find the owner getting interviewed in Jason Yeoh's (Axian) YouTube channel called Full time living
