The first visit and Kuriya did not disappoint us. The Sashimi were mouthwater! Fresh and cut. The Tempura dishes were just in place. Dessert was disgusting. Will definitely come back. View all feedback.
What Ellsworth Oberbrunner doesn't like about Kuriya Japanese (bsc):
The price was on the higher end. However, it matches the food quality. The udon was tasty. The salmon sushi feels fresh and becareful with some wasabi in between. View all feedback.
Here for a recommendation from a Japanese friend. Only ordered their Tenchirashi Soba (cold Soba with sorted tempura pieces and a soft egg), but was satisfied with it. Your service was also impeccable. The price is on the higher side, but I will still probably come back here to try out their sushi or donburi options.
Very much our favorite Japanese restaurant. Really fresh taste. Bear in mind, it gets crowded so best to book in advanced. The staff is very attentive and food comes to you briskly. A must, even if you eat here only once.
We supposed to go somewhere for ramen, but walked pass this restaurant and the good vibes here caught my eyes so we decided to change to have our lunch here. It’s an authentic Japanese restaurant, I guess it’s running by the Japanese chef. 1. Tempura Seiro The soba was really really tasty with the sauce!! I have tried soba from somewhere else, but this is the best so far! Tempura was crispy, the prawn was so fresh. 2. Nabeyaki Udon The udon tastes so good and chicken thigh was tender, the soup was so flavorful. 3. Agedashi Tofu The tofu was silk and tasty with the sauce. 4. Age Gobou It’s tastes special, a good snack before main course. 5. Kuriya special roll The roll wasn’t really that ‘special’ but taste nice. 6. Matcha parfait I’m a matcha lover. The intensity of the matcha ice cream is really high. The matcha flavor and bitterness is abit strong, but if you eat it together with the red bean ball and jelly would taste perfect! Price is above average but I would say that it’s better than those chain restaurants with high pricing food but taste just alright. Worth the value, just give it a try!
Visited the restaurant for lunch. First impression that it may be too expensive. But after going thru the menu we thought it wasn't too bad tho we assumed portion maybe smaller. We ordered chicken katsu don. As expected, the portion was definitely smaller as compared to SZ. But it tasted good and we enjoyed the ambience.
Overall very good dining experience. Their house umeshu is very good for RM28 per glass. 1 is not enough. The yuzu cocktail do not have much kick. The food is fresh and nicely done. The cold soba is nice and the texture is al dente.
