In the hotel aegean houses we went past sunset taverna half a dozen times during the day, while we went to kos town and shredded over the wagon wheel tables tha... read more In the hotel aegean houses we went past sunset taverna half a dozen times during the day, while we went to kos town and shredded over the wagon wheel tables that border the pavement and never really had a second look. but then we passed twice, both paintings at night and noticed that it was really busy. there was no attempt to draw us, no menus in our faces, only waiters and employees go over their business. So we decided to stop on Friday night and give sunset taverna an attempt, and what a good decision it was, what a recurring thema seems to be in our kos, astypalea and greece holiday reviews this year. we were immediately greeted and shown to nice table for two, with menus and the table dressed to the normal way. we have decided to start a bowl with creamy muscheln, and then a beautiful bark stifado in a rich tomato sauce and a t-bone steak, boiled medium rare. the stifado was hot and the bark was cooked exactly right, and then the t-bone steak, very good. the knife slipped through the flesh and it just melts in my mouth. as usual with half a liter of carafe dry white wine. the service was impeccable. the two waiters were beaten by the feet, but they slide around the restaurant with guaranteed trust. we have now worked out that it is soon easy to choose a good restaurant in Greece. Do not eat at any place where they are touring for business, menu in hand-pavement page, look for how many tables are reserved, some have simple reserved hints on the table other use flake wine. it's so simple. As you can see from the photos… the steak was huge, the only thing that let the steak down was the cheap reformed onion rings, fresh proper onion rings would have been better. The tiramisu was had by us both for dessert, yum yum in our tums… you must try this.
