Staader Fahrhaus - Konstanz

Good menu, good taste. Fish or meat, perfect cook that serves its creations itself. Good wines and good service. Absolutely recommended.

We managed to make the last table available for the evening. We were so glad we did. The menu is adventurous, but not at the expense of quality of ingredients or care, with meals are prepared. Delicious food and a fair price.

Very enjoyed the restaurant in all areas, fine cooked local cuisine (including Lake Constance Fish), excellent and generous local wine pairings, attentive service and beautiful location. Really, very impressive.

We stumbled across this restaurant and had a wonderful meal. My husband had the 4-course vegetarian menu. I went a la carte and had curry fruit soup, fish from the lake, and a berry dessert. It was perfect. The fish was cooked perfectly, the berry dessert was just right, and the curry soup was delicious and like nothing I've had before. Our companions missed out because they'd had a big lunch, but they very much enjoyed their huge shared cheese plate, with assorted exciting cheeses. I wish this restaurant was closer to my home so I could visit often.

Great location. Not over run by tourists like many places in town. We sat outside, lovely setting under trees. Our server was friendly but not very knowledgeable when asked about certain dishes on the menu. As it is asparagus season ( which only lasts max three months in Germany) most dishes had this veg as its main component. If you don't like them you have rally lucked out. The food was OK. Wine list good. The prices were on the high side. It will be a while before We go back, there are too many other excellent restaurants in Konstanz.
