Situated in the South City Mall. We were 9 people. The ambience was nice. We took a weekday buffet. The cost was Rs.1075+GST. Service was good, Food was nice. The items should be revised. The taste was good, all the items were almost non spicy. But according to the food, the price was too high. We can get a good buffet in the lower price range also. What Somnath B doesn't like about Mainland China:
Nice ambiance. Housefull in a weekday is pretty good to see but food options in buffet are limited and tasteless . We have spent Rs. 1000/ pp and it was just waste of money. Please try for the ala Carate menu or elese you will get the same treatment. Few food options only . Fish starter is very poor . Baby corn is good . Chicken starter is very avg. Palak fry was awesome must try also chicken dimpsum was good , soup... View all feedback.
I recently visited this restaurant for the second time. During my previous visit, there were more options available, such as crab. The buffet was decent overall. I'm not usually a fan of soups, but I really enjoyed their chicken coriander soup. The fish dishes were particularly tasty and the kimchi was fantastic. However, I wasn't a fan of their double fried lamb. The dessert selection was smaller than expected, but still satisfying. The darsan with ice cream was delicious. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. The food quality is slightly above average, with great hospitality and a pleasant ambiance.

Other main course items are noting great ,excluding sea food prawn in white sauce) .. Though Deserts were better, brownie is good .
Food quality is extremely poor and disappointing. Any small food joint of china town will deliver far better quality of food. Service is also poor...Didn't bother to pour mineral water in glasses... Wash basin is dirty...Water stopped suddenly...When informed...All staffs are callous about this. Overall not recommended.
Mainland China is known as one of the top fine dining restaurants, but their buffet offerings are just average. The restaurant gets crowded and noisy on weekends, with a wait time of 20-30 minutes. The staff pushes for the buffet option, which offers quantity and variety for 1100+tax, but lacks the authentic Chinese flavors expected from this restaurant. There are no discounts available on the buffet and it's worth noting that the staff only speaks Bengali, which may be a barrier for some international guests. Overall, Mainland China could improve by addressing the language barrier and focusing on delivering a more authentic dining experience.
