As this snacks outlet is close to my home,i have been here innumerable number of times. As the sale is always high, sometimes yiu have to wait in the queue, but the service is more or less quick.Their speciality lies in the rolls, chilly chicken,parathas..But,I can assure you,if you intake their roll,e.g the chicken roll, you need to to quite a bit of excercise to empty your stomach. It's huge!As the price is within range,... Overall a good place for pocket friendly meals. It is just beside my house so I order on a regular basis and everytime I am satisfied with the food.
The street food 'Sultan ' of Dhakuria.... Period. The rolls are their USP. Other than the rolls, the cutlets and the Kabirajis are excellent too. The chinese and mughlai dishes they serve are just what we street food lovers have been programmed to expect from such a place. And simply put, they do live upto the expectations. Another good thing is that very little oil goes into the making of their snack items and definitely you will not be needing an antacid. They do have a huge rush, so rest assured they do serve freshly made stuff cause they run out of stock in the end. So, no question of stale items. Hygiene is one aspect that they can improve upon. Prices are a steal. If you have great expectations, you might be in for a not so pleasant surprise, but street food lovers keep it simple... Don 't they??
I have been having food from this small takeaway joint from 1999 I guess, so you can imagine how much I 've liked my experience. Not only me, Lokenath (as it is locally called) always has a que in front of it, which still proves that they have maintained their quality. A favorite among every Dhakuria resident, the place serves both North Indian and 'calcutta ' chinese. I personally prefer their romali roti and chicken chap, which they actually serve in an earthen pot even for take away.
Want a quick bite but also want taste, good price, and quantity? Then this one is for you. They are mainly famous for their rolls and they have a variety of those. They also make the good Kolkata street food style chowmin. Their chops, fries, and finger foods are quite good. Funny thing is, you can eat a whole lot of those without reaching for antacids. So, obviously they use good quality cooking oils and don't sneak in stale and rotten one left over from the day before into the fresh ones. They make such big rolls that one will fill you up for the night. And they are tasty.
It is just next to my house....the famous here is Rumali Roti and many other stuffs...most of the time it is crowded and you have to wait a long que ...!!!
