Arun tea stall is a small stall located in the lane opposite to Hindusthan Dhaba, theatre road. There is always a crowd of people having tea and enjoying the other snacks which the stall offers. The club kachoris and the jalebis are a must try. View all feedback.
The menu at Arun Tea Stall is simple, offering tea, coffee, kachori, club kachori, gulab jamun, jalebi, and bonda, all priced higher than average roadside stalls in Kolkata. However, the manager's motto of 'Eat less, but eat well' seems to resonate with many patrons, as evidenced by the crowd I witnessed on a laid-back Sunday afternoon. While the cleanliness of the stall may be questionable and the prices on the higher side, I would still return for their delicious tea, which ranks among the best I've had in Kolkata.
Always order, my favorite club kochiriGulab jamun, jalebi Paisa wasul Arun tea stall
This tea shop is one of the oldest in the area, located near the back gate of Xavier's at the intersection of Shakespeare Sarani, just a short distance from Shakespeare Sarani PS. They only offer tea in one size, XL, priced at Rs. 40 and served in a kulhad the size of a soup bowl. In addition to their delicious tea, guests should try their Kachouri, Jalebi, and Samosa. One Samosa Jalebi is a perfect accompaniment to their generous serving of chai. They also offer sugar-free tea and serve their food in eco-friendly utensils made of saal leaves, with designated dustbins for garbage disposal.
This is definitely the best tea I have ever had. It only cost $15 and came in a good-sized clay cup. The packaging was also really impressive.
