Extremely delicious sizzlers and a great experience is what you'll find at Café Royal. A historic place that has just completed 100 years of its history after humbly making it's start in 1919. A entry decor gives you a historic feeling and nostalgia of the olden times. A must visit place for good food in town! View all feedback.
Great food and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the Golden fried prawns and chicken in pepper sauce appetiser. The main course of Chicken sizzler with pepper sauce had too much of pepper sauce that over powered the taste of the entire sizzler. I would suggest to not put the sauce on the sizzler but to serve it separately along with the dish. Staff was really great with hospitality! I will definitely come here again and would also recommend others (including families) to visit this restaurant.

Great place for families, couples or friends alike.Good soul satisfying food..you could get anything from Burgers to sandwiches to pizzas but the star of the show are clearly the sizzlers!Tends to get crowded on weekends but the guys manage and assign tables fairly quickly
I was here last Friday, after a hectic evening at Colaba causeway shopping, and I always wanted to drop by here, this restaurant being established in 1919 and the ambiance was pretty cool inside, nice paintings of Hollywood and Bollywood actors and quite fine dining kind off seating. So I was all excited to try the food here, so we ordered. 1. Cottage cheese cilantro: nice soft cheese balls dipped in cilantro flavoured, delicious and mouth melting. 5/5 for this one. 2. Shanghai pomfret: so first of all this pomfret was without the bone, so delicious, crisp, my go to dish to visit here again. I loved it. 5/5 for this one. 3. Murgh Peshawari kababs: cheese stuffed chicken, tandoored and tasted fabulous. 5/5 for this one. 4. Nachos: crispy chips, beans and sauces, good quantity and delicious. 4/5 for this one. 5. Classic chicken burger: burger was crispy, fine and perfectly sauces and tasted wonderful. 5/5 for this one too. 6. Pepper chicken steak sizzler: so this place is famous for sizzlers and they quantity is huge and so is the quality and taste. 5/5 for this one. 7. Molten chocolate with ice cream: chocolate molted and along with ice cream tasted wonderful, it was hot and mouth melting. 5/5 for this one. 8. Gooey chocolate cake with ice cream: the cake was fresh and gooey and over filled with chocolate alone with vanilla ice cream tasted delicious. 5/5 for this one.
Cafe Royal is located just 5 mins away from Churchgate station. Easy to locate, easy to reach. Made up of vintage decor with vintage paintings on the walls. There is also a painting resembling the Last Supper, only it’s replaced with bollywood and hollywood actors. Quite interesting!! The place is huge enough to accommodate around 100 guests comfortably. The staff is courteous and helpful in recommending. Cream of Feta Spinach Soup with Chicken : 5/5 I loved this soup. Bright green in colour and attractive because of the spinach. The soup was thick enough with good amount of chicken pieces and feta cheese, which gave a sour balance to your palate while sipping the soup. Thai Prawns Soup : 4/5 Extremely spicy. You get that spicy thaska in your throat with every sip. Delicious no doubt but spicy as hell. Grilled Prawns : 5/5 The prawns were perfectly grilled with tasty marination of spices. Served with green chutney. Tandoori Pomfret : 5/5 The fish was perfectly cooked in the tandoor spices. There was enough marination and it gave an overall amazing taste to it. The presentation was attractive, served on a small bamboo khatiya. Dahi Ke Kebab : 5/5 I don’t usually order vegetarian appetisers but this one was chefs specialty and so I had to order. And it was a winner. Absolutely yummy yummy!! Amazing kebabs cooked with curd which gave a beautiful taste, serve with mint chutney. Watermelon Feta Salad : 4/5 This salad is my favourite but it’s served differently everywhere. Here it was quite average. Though there was enough watermelon and feta cheese, there were less rocket leaves and the addition of pine nuts were a not quite in sync. Pine nuts don’t have the crunch which walnuts do, hence they should replace it with walnuts. Chicken Cordon Bleu : 5/5 This is a best choice for mains. The description in the menu itself was tempting enough and so I had to order. The chicken steak was stuffed with chicken salami, cheese and gherkins which tasted delicious altogether. Served with mushroom sauce which was again tasty and mashed potatoes which could’ve been more soft and smooth. Chocolate Ecstacy : 5/5 It was basically a dark chocolate pastry which was rich, decadent and goey. It was brilliantly baked.
