Windmill Grill - Kokomo
Windmill Grill
Description
The restaurant has garnered mixed reviews, emphasizing a divide in experiences among patrons. While many appreciate the quality of the food, particularly the salads and signature dishes like the chicken sandwich and cowboy cut steak, consistent issues with service have surfaced. Complaints include slow and inattentive waitstaff, frequent server changes, and difficulties with order accuracy. Ambience also drew criticism, with loud music detracting from conversations, and some guests noted uncomfortable temperatures. However, standout servers have received praise, enhancing the overall dining experience for some. With reasonable prices and decent food, it remains a potential option for local diners.

On my first visit to the restaurant, I tried the fish sandwich and thought it was good. On my second visit, I ordered the battered fish. While the dish was enjoyable, I was disappointed to find that malt vinegar was not available as I usually like to pair it with my battered fish. Despite this, the service was very friendly.
When we moved to Kokomo Windmill Grill was one of the first places we tried and since it's been consistently great for both pick up and dine in. One particular time when I made a pick up order, they actually sent one of their people out in the rain to make sure I had my cake that's going above and beyond in my book to make sure I was a happy customer. If you're stopping in, the carrot cake is a must, and all of their entrées are great. I'm a huge fan of the pulled pork sandwich and the tenderloin.
