What an amazing experience! I called from NYC to arrange a last-minute birthday gift delivery for my mom. They not only delivered but truly went above and beyond to make it special. My parents can't decide which treats they love most—eclairs, cream horns, cupcakes, or cookies. I highly recommend supporting this little business; you won’t be disappointed! Deliciousness awaits you!
I've been getting my cakes here for years because they are the best in town! I don't care what she's using to make that icing cause it's outta this world deliciousness! I've never ever had a problem with any cake, cookie, cream horn etc I've ever gotten from here! The icing has always been thick and my cakes have always been moist and delicious! If this is cake made from a box then hats off to the baker because my cakes have never been even close to the yumminess experienced from this shop! I'm not a friend of the owner and I don't know the owners but I do know I love their cakes and I will continue to get all my cakes from this shop!
Although it was six years ago, I still remember how she made my husband's wedding cake! They even stayed to cut the cake and boxed up the pieces after serving it at our reception. It was amazing to eat, and it tasted even better on our one-year anniversary! I would definitely say it was the best cake ever!
Nobody answered the door when I walked in in my phone one often ranks I know they heard me because I was talking on the phone
I begged my dad to get a cake for me from Create a Cake. I did not want a grocery store birthday cake. I love homemade cakes! My dad asked the lady who took his order if the cakes are homemade (meaning: mixing flour, sugar, butter, etc. and he was told Yes. I wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. He said the lady told him I could only have white frosting. Wha?? I was excited, regardless. A real cake! But...I and everyone at my party noticed the cake frosting tasted weird. In addition, the frosting was so thin, I was impressed it was possible to put so little on the cake! The cake was moist and tasted ok, as good as any boxed mix; it just did not taste like scratch/homemade cakes. I did like the average flowers and edge frosting work. At least those areas had thicker icing...but that icing taste?? I was so upset. And...the mystery was on! We all started asking questions. My brother even looked inside their dumpster (what he found, confirmed by a knowledgeable person...coming up . I talked to people-in-the-know about why the white only icing? Weird tasting icing? No homemade tasting cake as told? First, we found out they use cake mix! ALWAYS! Regular box cake mix that we all can buy at Walmart! As for that weird frosting? Their recipe for the frosting is simple, having 2 ingredients: white shortening and confectioners sugar. GROSS. No butter, no vanilla flavoring, nothing else. This recipe is simply colored for any decorations ordered. My sleuthing also gave me my answer as to why the white instead of chocolate frosting was supposedly the only flavor the place wants us to order. The frosting is 90% of the time white because of the recipe they use. (Again, shortening confectioners sugar, yum. If a customer insists on chocolate or another flavor of frosting? Or the owner is friends with/likes a customer? Someone from Create must leave the bakery to go purchase a plastic tub of the pre-made frosting. The cake flavor pushed onto customers is never chocolate, strawberry...and more. The place buys yellow and white cake mixes from stores, the same mixes and stores we all use. Why is a head scratcher. White and yellow flavors make mixing those boxes of cake mix in large quantities easier. If any customer orders a cake flavor other than yellow or white? And the place decides to accommodate? Someone from the store has to run out to a grocery store and buy that flavor of cake mix to be cooked for that customer. Also, a special bowl with beaters must be prepared for these other flavors. (Just a guess here...laziness? Hey, why not just bring Create a box of cake mix, cooking oil, and a couple of eggs? Definitely remember to bring the plastic tub of frosting to frost the cake as well or you will get it frosted/decorated with sugared oil. All that is left is to just pay Create to cook and decorate your cake for you. I believe this would cut down the price quite a bit.
