This was the best Italian meal I have had in a long time. While they do have the staples (pasta and pizza which my wife truly enjoyed), it was the other dishes which they serve which truly enthralled me. There were ~8 daily specials (reasonably priced) in addition to the standard dishes on the menu. I had a Calamari salad which was fantastic. The Calamari was lightly breaded and perfectly pan fried. One friend had a beautifully grilled, whole fish that just flaked off the bones. I could tell from the way another friend cut their cheese/spinach ravioli that the dough was perfectly al dente and I could not see any water pouring out from the filling. The service was friendly, prompt, and we were not rushed by the wait staff. If you are visiting Cologne, Duerner St. in Köln-Lindenthal is probably a little bit out of your way although easily accessible with public transportation. This is the only reason why I am not giving it an Excellent rating since most visitors to our city probably don't want to take the Straßenbahn 8 stops to visit our district of Köln. However, I think it is totally worth it and I will definitely come back to Faro.
This place is nice and has a friendly staff, however the food is terrible. Bad quality, obviously not fresh ingredients and overpriced. Not returning ever.
I'm Italian , nice and friendly family restaurant, people from Sicily, very good pizza, fish & pasta. I come every time when visit koln for expo and work!
Faro moved not too long ago. i was worried that it may drop itS' standards. It did'nt and is still really not bad at all.Service was a little slow, but not to the extent that I'd not go again. It'S just that there are two restaurants I prefer really not far from here. Al Gufo and Il Cavaliere.
