Dom Im Stapelhaus - Köln

I confirmed the reservation and when we arrived, we were told that they did not serve food.

The food was good and the staff was very nice. Except that it has overlooked a whole time that our beer was empty.

We booked through Open Table and the booking was confirmed by email, but the restaurant did not have us on their list nor did they know that we were coming. Luckily we waited 5 minutes and there was a free table for such a large party. But something, or communications between the two places was not good or something I don't know.

One sunny night in early June we went out with a couple of collegues to downtown Cologne for dinner. Because of the nice location with a view we ended up in the Dom im Stapelhaus Sitting on a pattion high above the promenade we had...a wounderful view on the river, the people and the boats floating by. Can't be beaten. We ordered drinks and later also food from the great choises on the menu card. The beer was served in tiny glasses but cheap once you finished your glass, the server directly gave a new one. The menu choises are many, original German dishes but also some international favorites. We had salat, schnitzel and sauerbraten. All dishes were excellent, served after just max minutes and taskes delishious. Portion size was just to be able to manage it without leftovers. The check was very resonable for the amount and quality of service, food and drinks. Will I be back? Absolutly, hopefully soon, its a great location and we loved it a lot. No complains.

This is a cosy place near Bruges centre and the staff were very friendly. We thought we'd give the entrecote a go. At euro, we expected good things. There was nothing wrong with the steaks particularly when they came just that there was...no sauce and the portion of potatoes was quite stingy! So what we got were two completely ungarnished pieces of beef. We felt that for the price, it should have been a lot better. Having said that, we had a great evening and the staff there are really lovely. Would we go back? Probaby but we would try something different.
