Old emblematic restaurant in Copenhagen. Tips a bit towards we can relax, we have a history ... In any case, of course we tried the signature dish : ”THE DOLFIN” Turbot in puff pastry, Danish black lobster, spinach lobster bisque. Well, tasty of course, but really hedonistic with extra all. A bit stuffy and not really so refined. Felt like a 1980:s dish. Nothing wrong with that, but as said heavy on the palate. The s... View all feedback.
What Jörg Sievert doesn't like about Salon:
Overall good but not great compared to price, i.e. priced to michelin star level but does not quite reach this level Both starter and main were solid old french style, so really good though not michelin star level Service was pretty good yet also slightly below expectations Wine selection fantastic but overpriced Truly wonderful interior design and atmosphere View all feedback.
There was a nice buzz in Salon as we entered but it grew into a loud shouting match as we would experience later that evening. All dishes were delicious and flavourful and served with generous portions by our friendly and very knowledgeable waiter. Unfortunately we were seated next to a table of at least 10 loudly speaking men which made it impossible for us to have a normal conversation. When we asked the bossy and head waitress/manager ? if we could have another table because the screaming at the loud table was getting unbearable, she just snapped at us and bluntly said NO . It all went downhill from there. It 's not only about food but the whole package has to be right and although we loved the food at Salon the way we were treated by the manager/bossy waitress left a bad taste in our mouth....
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Salon restaurant in Copenhagen, and while the experience was excellent in many ways, it came with a hefty price tag. The service was top notch, with friendly and attentive staff who knew the menu inside and out. The wine list was also impressive, with a wide selection of high quality options. However, the prices were steep very steep. The dishes were expertly prepared and presented, but the cost was hard to justify. I understand that high end restaurants come with a higher price tag, but Salon took it to another level. If you're looking for a special occasion splurge and budget is no concern, Salon is definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is upscale and sophisticated, and the food is truly exceptional. But if you're on a tighter budget, you may want to consider other options.
Visited restaurant early January with family. Atmosphere is elegant and service is responsive and advicing food and wine on a very high level. After some canapees and starters it was time for the signature main course The whale baked turbot). This is one of the experiences with fish i ever had. Very recommendable!
Such delicious food served in a relaxed yet very professional atmosphere! The scallops are to die for!
Expensive, especially the wine, but a lovely meal in a restaurant that feels very relaxed and with great service. We were three couples when we dined here and had a lovely time. It was a mix of the chorizo langoustine risotto, oxtail tortellini and sweetbreads for our starters all the dishes were very good. For our mains several of us ordered the signature 'Dolphin ' dish which was very good and filling others had steak or sea bass. Most of us couldn 't manage a dessert. The wine list is a thing of beauty and if you have deep pockets you can enjoy some of the finest wines from across the world. We went for a French Sauvignon Blanc and Chateauneuf du pape both were very nice and so you dont need to spend a fortunate although they were £52 £77 respectively. The restaurant do offer a fixed 3 course 'Chef 's ' menu which was good value £70) and for the evening we visited consistent of lobster soup, steak and profiteroles. The service from the team was very good the bill, including service, came to £620 and we would be very happy to return.
