There is a special mood over the place, a time pocket where you step 30-40 years back in time. The food was very delicious and plentiful, the service friendly.

All of us have a global view/experience on food in general and Danish food in particular. We booked this Christmas luncheon late and honestly speaking we did not get our first choice so excited to try this new place called Gammel Torv. Food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding and Ms. Ann and her colleagues made for a lovely afternoon. We had the Christmas menu and all the dishes were so good. Thank you for an unforgettable afternoon in this Copenhagen culinary gem. We will for sure be back.

I was informed that in a... read more I was at Cafe Gammeltorv for lunch for the first time on 6/8-2024. There were two waiters on the floor both smiling and super pleasant. I was informed that in addition to those selected on the card, they could offer lobster salad on light bread. I had almost made up my mind in advance; but I love fish and I couldn't stand the prospect of lobster salad. So it was lobster salad and chicken salad. Both pieces were served on light bread, not boring toast; but a really delicious light bread. Both pieces were very tasty and well composed also in terms of different textures being present. I drank another Fur Brown Ale. It was a really good experience, food and service were just as they should be. It is certainly not the last time I pass by Cafe Gammeltorv

I had 'herring, three ty... read more Amazingly good restaurant that my wife and I found by accident. I have been eager to try the local herring and this was just the place. I had 'herring, three types ' and loved it. Loved the curried herring the most but all three were excellent. The service was great. Typically Danish and VERY friendly and accommodating. Already planning on going back!
