After placing an order, I waited for 30 minutes. I then asked a waiter when my food would be ready. They informed me that they had forgotten to start cooking my order. I decided not to wait any longer and chose to dine at another restaurant instead. View all feedback.
We had a great time at the Shell Lounge enjoying our wraps and salad. The staff was friendly and the view was lovely. The food tasted fresh and healthy, with generous portions of tofu and feta. They also had vegan options available.
During our week-long stay at Ananda Detox Yoga Center for a yoga retreat, we had all of our meals at the Shell Lounge. We were pleased with the variety of options available for both vegans and vegetarians, ensuring that we never got bored throughout the entire week. Vegan choices were clearly labeled and included items such as chia or granola bowls, avocado toast for breakfast, pumpkin or broccoli soup, fresh rolls, Thai dishes, burgers, self-assembled salads, and delectable desserts. It is important to specify that you want the vegan option when customizing your order. One standout dish was the Thai curry, which was made without shrimp paste, a rarity that made it exceptionally tasty. We definitely plan to return for another meal. Notably, the menu specified vegan and vegetarian options and indicated which dishes could be modified to suit vegan dietary preferences.
During my stay at Ananda for a yoga retreat, I had the opportunity to dine at the Shell Lounge, where meals were included. I found most of the dishes I tried to be delicious. Some of my favorites included the pumpkin and black bean quesadilla, the roasted cauliflower, and the Burmese tea leaf salad. However, I would not recommend the pumpkin soup, which was more like a puree with lack of seasoning, and the spinach quesadilla, which was overly greasy due to melted cheese. The restaurant offers various seating options such as beanbags, sun chairs, and tables, making it a great place to relax. Additionally, there are plenty of plug sockets available for those who need to work.
Great location, situated right on the beach. The interior is very bright and open and you can walk straight out into the beach where they have seating. They also have beanbags for lounging around. They have vegan breakfast bowls along with quesadillas and vegan burgers. They also have a selection of bliss balls and a vegan chocolate cake which is huge and made from beetroot.. They have juices, health shots and shakes plus they dairy alternatives for coffee which include soya, almond and coconut milks. The menu is clearly marked for the vegan options. They are partnered with the Ananda Yoga and detox centre across the road which supply all the vegan treats. Nice place to chill, would come back again.
I am not a vegetarian, but I really enjoyed the dishes, especially both before and after my 11-day detox program.
