We had the best Thai food we've had so far. It doesn't feel touristy at all (for Ko-Phangan). We visited a few times and noticed local tourist workers eating there, who were probably looking for authentic homemade food as well. Their banana chips and rice are definitely a great alternative to typical snack foods. If we ever visit this island again, we will definitely be regulars. Thank you Dilute for the amazing dinner and smiles!
350 baht: This restaurant is located right on the beach in Salad and is run by a talented female chef. We ordered massaman curry, pad thai, rice, and a large Leo beer for 350 baht. It was one of the best meals we've had in Chiang Mai or Bangkok. The owner is very friendly and an amazing chef. We are planning to return to try more dishes. Update: We returned two nights later for another delicious meal of cashew nut stir-fry (loaded with fresh vegetables and cashews) and panang curry. You must visit this fantastic restaurant or you'll regret it.
This restaurant is located right on Salad Beach and is run by a single woman. We ordered Massaman Curry with chicken, pad Thai with chicken, a side of rice, and a large Leo beer for 350 baht. It was one of the best meals we've had in Chiang Mai or Bangkok. The owner is very friendly and a fantastic cook. We can't wait to try more dishes. On our second visit, we enjoyed another delicious meal of chicken with cashew nuts (packed with fresh vegetables and plenty of cashews) and stir-fried panang curry with chicken. If you don't visit this amazing restaurant, you're missing out.
Great Thai restaurant led by the sweetest woman. It is honest and uses fresh ingredients. The food is so good, we even saw some of the locals passing to get some of their fast snacks. My wife and I travel to Thailand last year and are in different places (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Lanta, Phi Phi, Krabi, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) and Thip is one of the best chefs we know. We ate here for several days (almost every day) and tried several dishes that were all delicious! Our favorites were Sun-Dried Fried Fish, Spicy Seafood Salad and Panaeng Seafood. Thip, himself, is such a bubbly a friendly lady and made me feel like I have a long lost grandmother in Thailand. I recommend everyone to try their food while in Koh Phangan especially when you are in the Haad Salad area. We tried a few other places and they were nothing compared to eating here!
This was the best and most authentic restaurant I experienced in Thailand. I went to eat Phangan with my friends in the first night and went back every day for the rest of our stay. The food is amazing, the prices are super fair and compared to other restaurants in this part of the island and Thip is just the largest. She is the most beautiful person at all, super friendly and friendly and is open to cook anything for you, even if it is not on the menu. You Thai food should die. She even taught me how to cook her amazing pad Thai. Best experience ever and definitely a go to restaurant if you are on Salad Beach.
