The food was decent and cheap. The shakers on the other side were great! We had the Phad Thai, who was fine, but the cook / owner recommended a local Turkish soup with chicken, which complements the noodles very well. It seems the special menu with local dishes - unusual to most tourist spots - is where its abilities radiate. Very friendly and service-oriented owner and staff. What 611leeg doesn't like about Phad Thai Rock N Roll:
Nice restaurant with good theme and excellent music. Friendly staff. Food was nice and tasty enough but not exceptional and portion sizes fairly small compared to other local restaurants. Prawn pad Thai had only 3 prawns which was a bit stingy. Restaurant was just unbelievably hot and an uncomfortable environment. Prawn pad Thai had only 3 prawns which was a bit stingy. Restaurant was just unbelievably hot and an uncomfortable environment. Accepting Thailand is hot at this tone of year the additional heat from the kitchen was truly unbearable and very ineffective fans. We did observe the waitress playing side salad with bare hands without any hand washing after picking something off the floor which wasn't great. Would not return as better local options for equivalent quality thai food.
Went here several times back in 2017, was so pleased to see that not only was it still there but had moved up the hill in Kantiang bay to a bigger restaurant and loads more dishes now as well as the families most amazing and delicious Padh Thai. Scrupulously clean , everything is made to order and is so fresh and tasty, the drinks are soooo good too, we had fresh mango and passion fruit daiquiris they were to die for ! Also excellent value for money. The owner also plays in a band down at the beach bar Why Not after finishing his chef shift and he sang especially for me on my Birthday and then again on our last evening which was so kind ! This restaurant is really easy to find , we stayed at Pimalai resort and it’s just at the top of the hill in the village. Go you’ll love it!
Lovely food. Great service. We had green chicken curry pad Thai and morning glory. Couldnt fault any of it extremely pricey so perfect!
Very good service, they speak very good english. Great thai local curry, wonderful The owner is very kind and proffessional
Went last night after reading the glowing reviews of food and the cleanliness of the place. Without doubt by Thai standards it is very clean. No complaints there at all but that is as good as it gets. Ordered the famous Duck red curry and the ribs in local curry sauce. The waitress asked how spicy we liked the rib curry and we went for medium not too spicy I said. Food arrived quickly seeing the place was busy. The rib curry was inedible as it was scorching hot and burnt your mouth. When I complained she said that’s how the local curry was but she toned down the heat for Europeans??? Now I will happily order a Jal Farazi in an Indian and eat it all no problem but this was on a different level and rather than offering to change it for something else she brought out some plain yogurt to cool our mouthes which it obviously didn’t Not good service I would say. As for the famous Duck Red curry it was very bland with no heat at all the total opposite of the ribs. The place is full of young people and I can only assume that they are not too fussy about the food they eat Sorry but the place is overhyped and not cheap. Needless to say we won’t be back any time soon.
