Contribute FeedbackWings Up offers a decent variety of wings at a reasonable price, with large and crispy wings cooked well. While the wait times and prices may be off-putting for some, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff are definitely highlights. Some flavors may not meet everyone's expectations, but with a little creativity at home or experimenting with different options, there's still a lot to enjoy. Overall, Wings Up seems to be a solid choice for those looking for tasty wings at a good value.
My family has been in isolation for a week. One more week to go. Getting a little low on provisions we thought we might enjoy a weekend treat. One son ordered fish and chips (xtra piece of fish from a nearby pub and my son and I ordered wings from Wings-Up Kitchener location. Astonishingly, the fish chips were a better price than the wings. We have never ordered from Wings-Up but my son used to enjoy them at his buddy 's house a few years ago. They mystery of the sauce. Ordered two 1lb meals both with sauce on the side and one extra sauce, one blue cheese dip and one ranch dip. Hmmmmm. The dips were both blue cheese and the sauce was non existent. What my son enjoys most about wings is the messy sauce. So I called. Excuse me there was no sauce in our order. Yes, there is sauce. I put the sauce in. No, there is no sauce. I would not call you if there was sauce. Yes, I put sauce. No. Bone dry, no sauce anywhere in sight. Yes I did. No, no sauce. Perhaps your delivery person takes the sauce out while they are driving (factitiously, sorry delivery guy, I know it 's not you. Oh, no, the delivery person would not do that. No , I don 't think so either. Would you like me to take a picture of my missing sauce. No I put the sauce in. Okay. So now my already very dry food is cold and drier, and clearly you have no concern about my dissatisfaction. I put sauce in. I spoke to the manager and I put sauce in. Sigh. It was a very expensive, very dry, very cold, dissatisfying meal while in isolation. And you gotta know that the pub that delivered delicious fish and chips also has messy wings. The jigs up for Wings-Up. Never again.
I have ordered from Wings Up twice before and was happy with their food. Unfortunately, this last time, the wings were very small and overcooked. They were so dry that it was difficult to chew, similar to the dry turkey in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I ended up throwing them away and had to quickly find something else to feed my friends. I will not be ordering from them again.
What happened to this restaurant? We ordered crispy wings with sauce and fries, but what we received was rubbery chicken with an excessive amount of batter. The wings were soggy and unappetizing. When we called to complain, we were told that this is what happens to wings when you add sauce to them. We have eaten wings at many other places, including Wings Up in the past, but it seems like under new management, they have forgotten about good customer service. This meal was extremely disappointing and we will not be returning. It's a shame because they used to be good.
Ordered five pounds of non breaded wings, six samosas, four pieces of garlic bread with cheese and bacon and an order of Cajun fries. We drove to pick up and bring home. Bill was $104.00. When my son brought the wings home, the box looked quite small so I thought I would weigh it. With the box included, what was advertised as five pounds actually weighed in at less than three and a half pounds. I called the store, where I eventually got the manager (at least, that’s what he claimed he was) who proceeded to tell me that the wings are weighed raw. I spent enough time in kitchens to know that you don’t get that much of a weight differential between raw and cooked small wings. The wings also came breaded, which was not what we ordered. The price for that small order was hard enough to justify, but when I saw what it got you, and the rude, put offish attitude from the staff on the phone including the “manager”, I decided that I would never deal with WingsUp again, and make every effort to share this with as many people as possible. Spend your money elsewhere as this place is a giant rip off.
Last week, I visited Wings Up in Kitchener. I tried the chicken wings and buffalo bites with medium and honey garlic sauce, and they were absolutely delicious. The quality was top-notch, and the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.
