Was Anonym at Oscar's a mag?
We had a wonderful breakfast. They have a good variety to choose from and a variety of prices. Nothing that is astronomecally priced. The veggie omlette was good and filling. If you love brunch and breakfast and wether it's a week day or week end then try it. They also have a good selection for lunches or dinners. It's just a nice family owned diner. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Oscar's:
Had a quiet lunch mid-week. Waitress was nice, stopped by a couple times. The philly sandwich was a little light on the meat but the bread was fresh and the peppers and onions grilled perfectly. Definitely somewhere to return to, perhaps try out the breakfast menu! View all feedback.

Referred here by local for good food at reasonable prices and that is what we found. Comfortable, large room that is as noisy as these places are, not a problem for us here. Service quick, efficient, and friendly. Wife had reuben with what she called the best fries she's had in a while. I had an all-day breakfast of eggs, ham, home fries, and toast which was so generous that it barely fit on the plate. I certainly think this would make a great breakfast place though menu is much more ambitious. Good place.

It was years since I went here so my husband and I decided to give it a try a few weeks ago. The staff was real nice, the food was pretty good too. Im only giving it a 4 star cause the inside could use an upgrade though it's really outdated.

Great place for any meal. Portions are large, service is fast and friendly, priced right. Never a problem with anything there. Not as busy as they used to be.

Every week, we gather with a group of friends for breakfast at Oscar's. I am always puzzled because the restaurant is seldom full. We go mid-morning, but by noon the place is emptying out. It's peculiar! I know breakfast is hard to spoil, although the lunch meals look attractive from what I have seen of them, and the prices are reasonable. Most of us have the special. That's eggs (two, any style), sausage (or ham or bacon), hash browns (two kinds), toast (two kinds), beans. If you don't want toast, you can substitute tomato slices. For two of us, the cost (taxes included) is $10.74 (coffee excluded). The servers are friendly and very obliging. The place is clean (even the washrooms have been renovated under the new owners). I hope that they make a go of it. We would hate to find a new meeting place for breakfast!

Oscar's Restaurant offers a mixed bag of reviews, from disappointing experiences with unprofessional staff to glowing recommendations of delicious food and friendly service. Despite some complaints about cleanliness and outdated decor, many patrons praise the reasonable prices and generous portions. The breakfast menu receives high marks for variety and taste, while some diners appreciate the accommodating staff and family-friendly atmosphere. Overall, Oscar's seems to be a hit or miss dining spot, with potential for improvement in certain areas.

Fast forward to Sunday, May 7, just one week before Mother's Day, when we received a voicemail on our home phone stating that the person who took our reservation had made a mistake and that the reservation would not be honored. The message suggested that we could still come and wait in line, but this was not an option for our elderly mother. The last-minute cancellation was not acceptable, especially since it was Oscars' mistake, not ours. Despite the initial error made by the staff, the reservation should have been honored. Providing only one week's notice was not handled correctly. We were very disappointed with the way this situation was communicated.

Tried Oscar's for lunch. An unassuming classic diner experience with great food and good service. Reasonably priced with a fairly extensive menu. Will be back!

We tried the hot beef sandwich, fish and chips, and club sandwich. The sandwiches were made with real beef and turkey from a roast. The asparagus soup was delicious, as were the Caesar salads with garlic dressing and real bacon. Overall, our visit was worth it. They also serve all day breakfast.

We went for lunch social distancing in practice and vaccine proof required. I had the homemade bean vegetable soup which was delicious and chicken quesadilla for $9.99. service was fast and efficient. We would go again.

I was very disappointed with my experience when I went here for breakfast. To start, the owner was walking around with a face shield not even remotely covering his mouth and nose. No mask being worn and he was carrying people 's food to the tables. Our waitress barely came by the table and our coffee cups sat empty a majority of the time we were there. Most disgustingly, there was a hair in my food (was very clearly not my hair) and when the waitress finally returned to our table once everyone else at my table was finished eating (the first time she had come since putting our food on the table). I told her there was a hair in my food. Her response was is it big or small? I responded saying I 'm not sure why that matters as I prefer not to eat people 's hair big or small in my breakfast. She proceed to tell me that she needs to know because the kitchen staff and managers always argue that it 's not their hair in the food (implying that hair ends up in the food fairly often). They gave us an extremely hard time getting my meal taken off the bill. The manager never bothered coming over to speak with us and stood in the corner of the restaurant glaring at our table. Our server when she finally dropped off the discounted bill said next time this happens, they won 't give you any money off your bill. Needless to say I will never be going back and will be taking my business to a restaurant that appreciates my business.
