To therealjimmeyer, the home fries are not frozen. I apologize if you were disappointed, but making false statements about them renders your assessment baseless. View all feedback.

To respond to therealjimmeyer, the homefries ARE NOT frozen...sorry you were disappointed but putting false statements on here makes your review unfounded.
I have been to Cheeky's several times and have tried several items on their menu - fish tacos, meatloaf, liver, hamburg, eggs, quiche, soup and of course dessert. Fish tacos were tasty, meatloaf and liver were also excellent. Hamburger was definitely made from real hamburg however it needed to have a few spices in it to jazz up the flavour. They only offer battered fish which is definitely a negative, but I did have it and it was very mild tasting. Eggs were done as requested, ham was thin and they didn't offer peameal bacon. Quiche was excellent and so was the soup. Dessert was a very generous amount which is always a good thing. For all of you who are comparing it to Christopher's, I am sure that you will feel "at home" at Cheeky's.
Everytime we have a Legion meeting in Cambridge, Judy and I stopped at Barnes Casual DIning (aka Christopher's) in Sunnyside for breakfast on the way. Surprise this time, it's now Cheeky's Bistro.Luckily, they are still open at 8 a.m.for breakfast, so in we went.I ordered usual ham and eggs - Eggs were perfect over easy, ham was nicely browned, toast was toasted just the way I like it. However, the "homefries" were not homefries, they were those horrible deep-fried frozen potato cubes. Breakfast is very competitive in this town, and by my own admission, I am fussier than most regarding this meal. But sometimes good fried potatoes can be the only real difference from one place to the next. Judy had French Toast, and was impressed with both quantity and quality. As this is a new restaurant (grand opening was just the night before), we asked for, and received, a photocopy of their menu to peruse for future consideration.Looks very interesting, and they assured me the french fries they serve with their fish 'n' chips are NOT frozen. The new owners have opened up the walls between the two formerly separate rooms a little, undoubtedly an advantage as they plan live entertainment evenings in the future. The staff is very friendly, and with the exception of my homefries, breakfast was certainly good enough to entice me back sometime for dinner. (They have Liver & Onions on the menu, that's a big plus in my opinion)I will just remember to pass on the homefries.

Delicious blue eyed Thai foodDon't expect authentic Thai food but western interpretations of the cuisine.
