I'm not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from, maybe it was just an off day. My fish and chips were served quickly, which is usually a red flag. Both the fish and chips tasted like they were fried in old oil, which is crucial in a dish like this. The fish was cooked properly, but it wasn't what I had ordered. Paying $8.50 for a meal that could have been much better was disappointing. View all feedback.

Nice selection of Chinese style food at reasonable cost.
Food was nice as always, but placed an order and then had to stand in a queue for over 40 minutes to collect. Meanwhile taxi drivers were legitimately walking past the queue an collecting orders. Didn't make sense because the queue was having things made to order, hence the wait. Without the wait It would be 5 stars. No half star option. Moral of the story, if you don't want a long stand in the cold, get a taxi to collect.
Food is always excellent. Unfortunately it's a victim of its own success, and waiting times can sometimes be excessive. It would be 5 stars if not for the waiting times.
The Willows is my top choice for Fish and Chips in Orkney. Not only do they serve great Fish and Chips, but they also offer Chinese food. I was interested to see how they stacked up against takeaways on the mainland. The chips were delicious and the real standout for me was the white pudding I had last night. It was just as good as the best in Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean, so it looks like I'll be coming back here regularly.
