We had not expected this cafe to be open on a cold day between Xmas and New Year, but were pleasantly surprised. Good steaming hot takeaway coffee which was a welcome beak on a frosty winter's walk View all feedback.
My friends and I have been coming to this cafe regularly on Sunday mornings after playing golf. It's a small, friendly, and clean cafe that we have enjoyed visiting, even though it's a bit on the pricier side. The food is good, but we have never had our order done correctly. Today, two of us arrived at 12pm and ordered two large breakfasts, one with tea and one with coffee. We requested changes to the meals, one with mushrooms swapped for black pudding and the other with hash browns swapped for black pudding. After a 20-minute wait, our drinks arrived. Another 20 minutes passed before the lady apologized for the delay, explaining that the chef was having a rough day. Shortly after, our toast arrived, followed by the question of whether we wanted any sauces. My friend asked for ketchup, which took another ten minutes to arrive. Finally, after over 50 minutes, our breakfasts arrived. Mine was missing the hash browns, which were brought out a few minutes later. Despite the polite and apologetic demeanor of the staff, we were not offered any discount for the long wait and mistake in our order. We paid nearly £18 for two breakfasts that took far too long to be served. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit to Cafe CC.
I had heard good things about the Village Cafe and its food from friends a while back, so I decided to give it a try when passing by during lunchtime. The cafe is a small, cozy place tucked away off the main road, making it a bit difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area. The Specials Board offers a nice variety of options, and there is also a Meal Deal that includes a main course, dessert, and a cup of tea or coffee. I opted for the Meal Deal and chose from the Specials Board, although I had a tough time deciding between two of my favorites. Ultimately, I went with the homemade minced meat pie, which was served promptly and was hot and filling. The peas and carrots seemed a bit on the watery side, but I still enjoyed the pie along with the chocolate sponge and custard that followed. I may have to come back for another visit and try something different next time.
We had just given up on finding a place for coffee when we stumbled upon this hidden gem. The vintage decor was beautiful, with plenty of delicious cakes and biscuits to choose from. We were able to enjoy 5 large hot coffees for only £11.20, which we found to be a very reasonable price.
The coffee at this restaurant is fantastic and the service is top-notch. The bacon sandwiches are superb, cooked just right. Overall, this cozy cafe is a wonderful spot with friendly and efficient service.
I discovered this charming café today. The homemade food was excellent, and the owner and staff were very friendly. I highly recommend it and will be back soon.
