I always enjoy coming to this restaurant. They have a fantastic variety of soups and the coffee is very reasonably priced at £2, or you can get a pot of tea for £1.60 (as of December 2018). The staff is friendly, and there is outdoor seating available which is perfect for catching some sun during the summer months. View all feedback.
What sgillm36 doesn't like about Queenie's Coffee Shop:
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I ordered drinks and sandwiches, only to be informed that they didn't have white bread or paninis because their bread order hadn't arrived. This was in the middle of lunchtime at 12 o'clock. I ended up having to settle for brown teacakes, which were dry and stale. All of this cost us £12.90. Furthermore, the sandwiches were very basic with no salad garnish. I will defin... View all feedback.
Just discovered today. Great teas, soya milk available for vegans like me and amazing cakes. Very friendly staff and a generous discount for LBT members. Will definitely be back.
Always welcomed warmly, pleasant polite staff, reasonable prices. There is a chilled out atmosphere even during the busy periods. Food cooked quickly but still with attention to detail and quality. The coffees are made to the correct temperature and not scalded like other cafés in the area. The cafe is spotlessly clean and the staff are always dressed in a presentable clean style. Regular customers are obviously known and welcomed back but, new customers feel equally as important. Well done Queenie's, keep up the good work
Excellent coffee, locally sourced ingredients, friendly helpful staff, very clean and you can sit out in the adjoining Lawrence Batley Theatre courtyard weather permitting. Situated Just off the main shopping drag for a bit of sanctuary from the noise crowds.
I've been here a few times now, having to spend an hour doing something in Huddersfield everyday to break the monotony of work. Every time, I am greeted politely and fussed around whilst I order and pick a quiet table around the corner of the cafe. The food is always lovely, prepared with care and attention to detail, so I receive exactly the same as last time, being a creature of habit this is great. The current coffee shop QoS and cleanliness are nothing like the previous greasy spoon that was here before. I tried the previous cafe on a couple of occasions and it wasn't for me. I like that the place now is spotless, proudly displaying the 5 star hygiene rating and the food is very reasonably priced for the quality you get. I'm wondering if it's subsidised somewhat by the theatre ? I have even been here on my day off to have a break from shopping and re-fuel, as it is only 30 seconds from the Kingsgate centre and I prefer shopping here rather than Halifax where I live. Much better shops. Last Saturday I spent most of the afternoon here, the atmosphere is very relaxing.
Not much to say really as is all a coffee shop should be! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent coffee! Also really well priced for drinks compared to many other places. Great for students wanting a yummy bite to eat, a wake up coffee and a place to meet off campus there's free wifi too : My favourite cafe in town, it really deserves every success. Have a visit and see for yourself; it wont cost much to try and I'm sure you will want to return!
