Description

Dining at IKEA's restaurant has become a mixed bag for customers. Many lament long waits and underwhelming food, often resulting in disappointment due to limited menu options and inconsistent quality. While some dishes, like meatballs, receive occasional praise, others like cold omelettes and poorly presented meals have drawn criticism. However, the café shows signs of improvement, with better inventory management and a cleaner atmosphere. Some patrons appreciate the value during weekday visits, noting generous portions and deep discounts for members. Overall, while there are bright spots, customers still urge for more consistency to maintain its family-friendly reputation.

We did a bit of shopping today so called into IKEA for lunch, we had the meat balls chips and peas, what a load of rubbish, I should have waited until I got home and had something. The meal was warm at best, cheap bullet peas. We were hungry and there wasn't much so we ate it. We all like different food but I thought it was ****.

We arrived at the restaurant at 10:40 a.m. hoping to have breakfast, but there was a long line due to only one staff member serving. By the time we got to the front at 11:15, we were told that there was no more breakfast available. There were no eggs left, only a sad looking omelette that seemed to have been sitting there for hours. We complained to the manager about the lack of staff and were eventually refunded for our disappointing meal. The food was cold and rubbery, and we couldn't finish it. Trying to leave the restaurant quickly was a challenge due to the confusing layout. Overall, it was a stressful and unpleasant experience. This was my first and last visit to this establishment.

We visited this restaurant during the Easter holidays and expected it to be busy. However, we were surprised by the long wait time (almost 40 minutes of queuing) to receive our food, which was already prepared and just needed to be plated. The wait was so long that we almost gave up. The food was okay, but we had to search for clean knives and there were no napkins available. My son even compared it to the school cafeteria, but with slower service. It seemed like a simple task, but unfortunately, it was not executed efficiently.

Sausage, bacon, beans, omelette, hash brown and tomato for £2.50. Tasty food and a free brew before 10am. Perfect for a cheap and cheerful midweek breakfast.

The restaurant offers generous portions and is reasonably flexible with the menu. They also seem to have improved their supply chain, as they don't run out of items as often as before. The Ikea café is back on track and provides great value, especially if you have friends who also enjoy Ikea and visit on weekdays.
