Bengal Spice - Kirklees

It was an amazing experience to visit holmfirth because of Bengal spice , me and my wife been to holmfirth for couple of days and tried different indian restaurants but i must say Bengal spice is the best indian curry house i've ever visited . The interior was marvelous the quality of food was incredible with variety of options in the menu from starters to main .As i was confused what to try, a young man name memud came and helped me to decide my meal. the way he explained me all the curry and the ingrediants in it i was so excited to try most of them .on his recommendations i tried the dish called Katmando i believe.it was the most delicious chicken curry we've had some rice and garlic naan as well. we will definitely visit this restaurant again in future if we can .

Popped in on the off chance could get a table as staying at a local hotel overnight. Given a table straight away, a few other people in. Goid menu choices, food came quickly which is always a worry. However it was perfect. Great flavours, good value for money. Recommended. Nice touch a shot of Baiileys with the bill.

We had a wonderful time at Bengal Spice, although we hadn’t booked in advance and it was a busy Saturday night, we were quickly welcomed. The atmosphere was great, with lots of other diners and very friendly service. The waiters were absolutely amazing, very attentive. The restaurant was very modern and decorated beautifully with lots of character, with big windows, brick wall and quirky lights. The food was delicious, the poppadoms were perfectly crisp with a fantastic array of dips. We ordered the vegetable combo to share the onion bhaji was cooked to a golden perfection and the battered potato was so fluffy and beautifully spiced. Being vegan there was lots of options to choose from. I ordered a vegetable balti which had a great depth of flavours, a variety of vegetables and a rich sauce. The mushroom rice was delicious too. My husband had a balti Jatfri with lamb, which had plenty of meat, very tender and full of flavour. Overall had a fantastic time, and would recommend everyone to go there!

Just came back from an amazing Saturday evening out at Bengal Spice, and wouldn't have wished for a better evening with friends. Ordered the mixed platter and mixed fish platter for starters, which were battered and served with style. The fish pakora and masala fish were so soft, the chicken had the perfect amount of seasoning, and the king prawns were perfectly cooked. For the mains, we asked for two surprise mains and were given the special rice, Hyderabadi biryani, lentil curry, and two chicken curries. To be honest, after eating all these dishes, I felt satisfied and full that there was no room left for dessert. However, I couldn't leave without getting my favorite dessert, which was the banana fritters and ice cream. To die for, seriously! The perfect amount of sweetness and a hint of spice, yummy. The staff at the place were so kind and helpful especially Saifa and Juhaifa. The boss was also very kind whose demeanor truly reflects their exceptional management skills. Their kind and approachable nature created a welcoming atmosphere which definitely made the whole experience worth it

The restaurant is spacious with seating for approximately 80 people, decorated in warm browns and golds. Despite the rainy Sunday evening, the staff were welcoming and knew many of the customers by name. I enjoyed a variety of dishes from the extensive menu, starting with poppadoms and a selection of delicious pickles. The Shami Kebabs and Kathmandu Chicken were both flavorful and satisfying, accompanied by fluffy pilau rice and a sweet Peshwari naan. The attentive staff, including a waiter named "Moon," provided excellent service. I learned that Moon had used his earnings from working at The Bengal Spice to fund his university education in Artificial Intelligence. My meal concluded with a complimentary shot of Baileys. Parking may be challenging during peak times, but I had no issue on this occasion. The total cost of my meal was £34.70. I highly recommend The Bengal Spice for its delicious food and friendly service. After my meal, I took a leisurely stroll around Holmfirth, a charming town known for its history in weaving and cloth making. Despite the absence of Nora Batty and other "Last of the Summer Wine" characters, the town was filled with friendly locals and a few quality menswear shops. Overall, my experience at The Bengal Spice was delightful and I look forward to returning.
