Contribute FeedbackThe Black Horse restaurant offers a mixed bag of reviews, with some unhappy customers complaining about changes in the menu and facilities, while others praise the delicious food, attentive staff, and cozy atmosphere. Despite some drawbacks like noise and damp, the majority of reviewers seem to have enjoyed their experience at this country pub. The Sunday roast receives high marks for its quality and variety, while the friendly service and comfortable setting make it a great spot for a meal with friends and family. Overall, it seems like The Black Horse is a hit with many diners and worth a visit.
Always lovely , great food, great atmosphere, great service, lovely surroundings highly recommend.
Beautiful venue, food and excellent service from staff.
It was our first time staying and it won't be our last, excellent food and room.
We were staying over in this establishment and felt disappointed that we had been put in the corner of the bar area. (Even though I pre booked the table, I would have expected this if we hadn’t) the noise was unbearable and we couldn’t hold a conversation. When seated it appeared we were forgotten about for approx 15 mins without asking about drinks or even giving us menus. Once food order was taken the food took around 30 mins to arrive which is expected on a busy Sunday shift so no problem. Food was ok, we were told the beef would be pink but was not (again not the end of the world just underwhelming), and there was no cauliflower cheese (some greens with as small amount of cheese sauce as a replacement). A member of our party asked for the brownie to not be warmed through however it was and as a result had a slight burnt taste. The cheese board was lovely, and different having frozen grapes but pleasant. Overall, a nice Sunday dinner, just slightly underwhelming.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch, the food and the staff was amazing, will definitely be going again. X
