what a night dinner on Saturday evening, a culinary experience, the service very, very attentive and friendly; the spa in the basement, the whole establishment lovingly and original – and the Schlegels wonderful hosts who have been to our side even when we were no longer their guests, i.e. after paying the bill, even with the best advice for a wonderful hike on Sunday. Excellent restaurant. High-priced, but cost-effective, because here everything is. My favorite restaurant. Above all, I am delighted with the service. That's perfect-professional. Too bad that no 6-star rating is possible....
The Schlegelhof is a revelation. Ms. ubier gets shiny eyes when the name is called. First it sounds banal to chicken roasts. So, what would be quite predictable in the sleepy corner in the district courtyards of Kirchzarten. In fact, however, the name derives from the family name of the operators. The Schlegels run restaurant and hotel earlier as a modest pension already in the second generation, the third is already recognizable gastroaffin... From modest beginnings as a village inn, the Schlegelhof has developed into a model operation. Year after year, both the gastronomy and the hotel are expanded, modernized and more attractive. All in one of the top locations in the Dreisam valley with a view of Black Forest and flowering meadows that can replace a full holiday week. The inn was gently opened in the southwest, you sit behind floor-covering windows in the green. The adjacent conservatory also offers plenty of fresh air and an inspiring view of nature. You can also sit in the garden under old trees on scattered tables and enjoy the atmosphere even more directly. Children have space and equipment to play without disturbing the other guests. And they like to come not just because of the look. Martin Schlegel is a pardoned cook. The Baden-Baden Spagat between traditional dishes and upscale gastronomy is perfectly dominated. Both the standard card and the season menus as well as the daily recommendations show old acquaintances in surprising and convincing variations. I look forward to crumbs with Macadamianus chest, dried fruit cover and Potato Sellerielasagne. Even small trips to Asian cuisine do not contradict the feeling of swimming life. Always a pleasure is the curry coconut soup with lemongrass, ginger and roasted scalopp. A beautifully structured wine card must not leave any wishes open. I don't think I'm getting warm with the sommelier, but his recommendations were always good. The service is very dedicated and attentive, but certainly a merit of Mrs Schlegel, who is leading her proven team sovereignly. The ambience in the guest rooms is dominated by natural softwood, without into the rustic. Clear form language, modern lines and generous table areas let the guest arrive and enjoy relaxed. Ms. ubier's eyes shine again, I think I better order a table on the window...
The Schlegelhof is located in Burg Höfen, a district of Kirchzarten in a quiet location. From small beginnings, this house, now managed in the second generation, has developed into a small, manageable hotel with excellent cuisine. 11 rooms are available for overnight stays, whether travellers or holidaymakers; in the house there is a small but fine spa; Cosmetic and massage treatments are offered here. The restaurant is furnished in rural style with modern elements and a large window front offers the view free from the surrounding Black Forest Mountains. A spacious veranda and garden restaurant in summer complete the room. There is plenty of space for the small guests on a playground, always in view of the parents. The kitchen is excellent, as already mentioned briefly, it is cooked regionally with a great claim to the top gastronomy. The wine map keeps all good drops ready; regional wines of the Kaiserstuhl and the Markgräflerlands are offered, but also foreign wines from France and Italy complete the offer. The service is very attentive and the hosts are warm and friendly hosts. The kitchen is open: Mo., Di., Do., Fr. and Sa from 18:00 21:30 and Sun from 12:00 13:30 and 18:00 21:00. We're quiet. Even if the price segment is oriented upwards, it is worth spending a cozy evening for an excellent meal at the Schlegelhof.
We didn't have such a nice holiday for a long time..tolles ambience, a great atmosphere at eating on the orchard and at our favorite place at breakfast. The staff and also the food: better it is not. Thanks to the Schlegel family they have an absolutely great team and the kitchen has not only earned a star! we will definitely come back. Our secret tip: crustnuts, mullet and ice cream with pumpkin crown and pumpkin oil...... a dream
Super food and you sit very nice! Very pleasant operation, higher prices
