Mencius Gourmet Hunan - KINGWOOD

This was my first time trying this restaurant and I decided to order delivery. The food arrived hot and I absolutely loved the Won Ton soup, it was truly spectacular. My wife ordered the zesty chicken, but she was a bit let down by the lack of spice. However, we both agreed that the egg rolls were the best we've ever had. My only wish is that they also offered foo young on their menu.

This is a great place to visit. The waiter will play a little joke by changing his name based on the tie he wears. Try to guess his name when you dine here. The food is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The staff are very friendly.

The food was very good. Cherry Chicken was amazing! Hot and acid soup was ok, Lin is in Valley Haven is much better. I don't know about another restaurant Cherry Chicken has and I don't think anyone could do it better, it's really excellent. Sweet and Sour Souce is ok, The dish I was on lunch Special was #27 and it was really good. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and we will be back. I have eaten in this place for the last 30 years, but life is changing, and it has been several years since we were back to today. We'll be back soon. May 2022 we returned. Cherry Chicken was just as good as 30 years ago. Triple Delight was very salty and you could not eat the sauce with rice. Hot and acid soup was good again! Something new was the chips and dip, another fried wantedon strip with a good sweet and acidic sauce. Our waiter was excellent.

I have traveled around the world and have had the luxury of eating some really great meals. Last night I ate at Mencius and it may have been the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Lamb chops,Peking duck and pan fried dumping. Absolutly delicious.

Food was served hot and in a timely fashion. Staff was prompt and courteous. The inside was a little dim, gave off a “dated” feel. We enjoyed our meal. The server suggested a noodle dish with beef and shrimp. It was delicious. Shareable portions; next time we are ordering 3 dishes to share between four of us.
