Was Burcu Baturalp at Timeless Way a mag?
John and his staff are always pleasant and helpful. The food is above average and served hot, not like it has been sitting around for a while. The staff is attentive. the majority of the jazz nights are really good with some very talented people...and of course Matt Ives band as back up. We go every month for the jazz nights and more often for the atmosphere. Look overhead and you will see a cello, a piano and many o... View all feedback.
What Eunice Senger dislikes about Timeless Way:
I was lucky enough to have a seat by the window. As it was my 1st time the staff gave me enough time to look over the menu before taking my order. Once I had ordered it didn't take that long to arrive. The iced...mocha was just right and the Chicken Mayo toasted sandwich had plenty of chicken and just right amount of mayo. View all feedback.
I visited the last Thursday timeless way for lunch with my sister. It's not the first time we were here, and the reason is that there is a wide selection of delicious grinding goods options at a reasonable price, as well as excellent coffee. I went to the mini-breakfast and could choose the kind of bread I wanted to choose the egg I prefer, and even cooked like well or not, I wanted it. I could also swap one of the foods for a preferred choice and was very satisfied with the service offered.
I gave a pretty negative review of this establishment almost two years ago. It's time to give them a second chance surely? No, better. In fact a lot worse than two years ago. Getting a glass of water the menu was dumped on the table. No discussion, no greeting, nothing. Went with the safe option, Eggs Benedict at $19.20 (approx.) based on the 'traditional' 'tasty' descriptions from the menu. 15-20mins later two perfectly formed semi circular eggs (made in an electric poacher would be my guess) on two rashers of bacon & wholemeal toast (??what, no sourdough, no choice even?) and lightly drizzled with the most bizarre yellow hollandaise sauce I have ever seen. I suspect it was a bottled commercial sauce. It certainly wasn't freshly made or even made by hand I suspect. Cut into the egg and the yolk didn't even run. Disappointment doesn't cover my feelings. Taste? No, there wasn't any. No egg taste. No Hollandaise sauce taste. No bacon taste. The egg was hot. Maybe the coffee would be sufficiently tasty to offset the disappointment of the eggs. No!!! Tasteless coffee too. I'm too old to eat bad food any longer so I downed tools and went to the counter to pay for the meal. The poor waitress had been confronted with complaints and concerns previously I suspect because she came straight out and said I was not required to pay for anything other than the coffee. Making a quick look into the kitchen while waiting for my change... There was no cook/chef. No activity in the kitchen at all. Conclusion? Timeless Way Cafe are not interested in serving tasty food. They are only interested in making a buck on pension day when some of older citizens come in to do their grocery shopping. It'll be a lot longer than two years before I make the mistake of venturing into Timeless Way Cafe again. One bitten, twice shy as the saying goes. Not good enough.
