Gold Fish Restaurant - Kingston

The customer service from Gold Fish restaurant was impeccable. Drinks were poured, hot towels given, the wait staff were polite, friendly and unobtrusive. The restaurant is clean with minimalist yet tasteful decor. We had an entree each, three mains, a large special fried rice and a large steamed rice to share between the five of us. Best dish we got was the Sizzling Mongolian beef - very tasty! We were all quite comfortably full so we took home half of each of the rices, and some of the crispy fish in creamy chicken & corn which was our least favorite out of the three mains. (Tasted just like the fish was stuck in a bowl of chicken & corn soup.) Overall a lovely dining experience. $136 for five people was good value too.

This restaurant is in a strange place but it has been there for many years now and we have been regulars for most of that time. We use this restaurant to celebrate birthdays, Christmas and reunions. Our dear friends travel quite a way to eat here too. The food is delicious. There is an excellent selection, it is very well presented and the service is just fine. Sure they are not the picture of excellence you might want but this is Chelsea Heights not New York. Nothing is any trouble for the staff and they always make a special ice cream desert for us, either snowman or butterfly. If you want speedy service go to McDonalds down the road, if you want mouth watering food, a friendly atmosphere, and a pleasant evening, try here. We think you will be happy.

On the spur of the moment decision to attend the restaurant. Two couples who took their own wine, corkage was not expensive. Food was shared by the four. Serves were of a good size and every meal was considered to be of a high quality. Shared dim sims and they were excellent. Special fried rice was excellent. Every one agreed it is worth returning to the restaurant on another occasion. Staff were very good and we felt they were pleased at our attendance.

On my visits from UK this is a must visit for me. If you are in the area give it a go. The prices are not the lowest around but the food in my view is worth it. It is also not fast food you do have to wait for it to be cooked. Try the seafood basket. My family have been returning here for many years. Book early if you want their New year celebrations.

We haven't been here for years and hoped we were not going to be disappointed well we weren't... Ken the owner hasn't changed and neither has the quality of the food .. the prawn toast, crab claw and dumplings were all delicious. The Peking Duck was sensational only the pancakes could have been warmer and the chicken ribs were super .. couldn't have faulted the whole experience and will return again soon. We highly recommend Goldfish.
