Contribute FeedbackRecent reviews of the restaurant show a bit of a mixed bag. Some customers have reported a decline in cleanliness and food quality, as well as issues with portion size and communication with staff. Others have praised the delicious pastries, gelati, coffee, and panini sandwiches. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a good spot for meeting friends or enjoying some alone time. Despite some negative feedback, fans of Melanzane Parmigiana and Italian coffee seem to find this place a must-visit in Surbiton.
Great hole in the wallcafé authentic italia. I had the parmigiana, who looked deceptively small, but was a good full and well done. it came with a simple but healthy salate. the brote could have been better/fresh. the local brew coffee smelled wonderful, so they go back for it.
This is a really nice cafe. IMO the best coffee in Surbiton and with a nice seating area which I guess not many people know about. The pastries are easily the best in Surbiton. Bit of a gem.
I came here this afternoon for some lunch with a friend of mine. At first it looked very nice by the entrance. Once ordered and sat down. We noticed it was a tad grubby. Started with our table feeling sticky and our tea cups were a little stained. When our food arrived...my ham and cheese croissant was soggy and did not look edible . My friend chicken salad was even worse! Very burnt and hard. It just wasn 't pleasant at all. So we ended up leaving. The place it self could do a make over and more attentive chef!
I had the aubergine parmigiana, which was nice, but portion size a bit small. Cafe is very small inside, so not many tables, but service was good.
A little oasis in busy Surbiton High street great Italian coffee, and delicious pastries, panini, and soup. Lovely, friendly atmosphere and service. A great place to meet up with friends, but equally ok to have a coffee etc on your own.
